little house on the praire

A lot actually. Especially the last two years i describe as being set free.

Free from my weight holding me back from doing stuff and my mental health is at a place where i can do stuff.

Have my limitations and have to be careful.

But the best feeling free feeling is being able to travel and go places on my own. Not quite ready for a world tour but its opened up so much to me.

I just feel like ive started to live and see what others take for granted

What is freedom?

The day I give up my caring role for my disabled mum will be the day I am free

I don't mean it to be nasty but even when she has respite or on my occasional rare night out/away I never fully switch off and still worry and fret over her

Freedom to me is being able to make life choices without being hindered in doing so by any one or anything else.

I can't put a % on how free I am, I still have to consider others when I make life choices, but these days I only consider my kids, no one else has a right of input in my life.

But I'm finding my freedom is being compromised by other people's, tonight I was supposed to be all funny and charming and shit, at the Birmingham social but my ex has decided that she needs to be alone tonight, and so won't be having our son for the night, so while a couple of people I was dying to meet in person are having a good time, I'll be watching Netflix while comfort eating lol

sort of agree with the initial sentiment, having seen other's in the environment where they had lost their freedom it sort of brought it home what it actually meant to just be able to walk away from that environment at the 'end of the working day'..

To be honest, I feel like I have more restrictions on me in this country than in America. But I mean it in a different sense. It's constantly used as our vindication for every bad thing. Want to start a war? Let's make it for freedom! They hate us because we have freedom! Why can't I restrict gun rights? Freedom!

Freedom, fuck. I'm sick of using a meaningful term to justify atrocity. I'm just sick of hearing it.

As a said I walked away and hitched without knowing where I was going, eventually a stopped at a seside town where I stayed all summer long.

I had no money, no bank card and no work. I did not sign on but just did odd jobs when I needed to eat.

I have never felt so free before or after

- going on holidays.. Packing the car, leaving the house and not coming back for a few days.. However how many bills go through the front door.. I have no control of.. I won't know

- switching the wifi off and phone off. No emails, no texts, no calls (sorry friends), no social media... I love that when I'm away...

- like above, leaving work on a Friday afternoon... At least 2 whole days without being controlled by idiots

- going to a quiet beach and looking at the sea.. Silly but it always gives a sense of freedom... No buildings, no traffic, no people...

- holidays again or time off... Not to have to live by the clock.. Get up, have a shower, lunch, go to bed whenever I want

There are many more and I won't bore ... Being and feeling free is a wonderful feeling

Tied up to a massive mortgage, loans, credit cards.

Phone contracts, TV,broadband, car insurance, home insurance, life insurance, tax,council tax, water,gas, electricity, road tax, TV licence, controlling employers, the crushing responsibility of bringing up children in the era of multi media and terrorism threats. Lying politicians and large corporations controlling everything we eat, drink, buy, think and where we live.

Out of control immigration and out of control benefits system exploited by lazy liars unwilling to contribute to the system.

We think we are free but we are totally controlled by it all.

Freedom?

You decide.

At least we can vote, all be it for corrupt lying politician's.

We are not bound by chains and threatened with beatings and death.

Only financial chains.

We don't live in a society dominated by one fanatical religion where to disagree is punishable by death.
