Something that baffles me

There's a corner shop next to my work, and it still has a top shelf FULL of, well, jazz mags. Bongo pamphlets. Gentlemen's one-handed periodicals.

HOW?

The music industry can't sell records. TV is all on demand watch when you want. Video stores are a thing of the past. Libraries and bookshops are dying off left right and centre. But somehow, there's still a market for about 30 skin mags EVERY MONTH.

Who are all these analogue masturbators? Is it ALL old people who don't get the internet, or have the retro-cool hipsters doing it ironically?

I don't know the answer too this one.....

But if my curiosity got the better of me, I'd simply ask the shopkeeper what it's all about...

They must sell otherwise they wouldn't be there surely?

Maybe people who don't know how to internet, or don't trust the internet (Because the internet is watching you) but are there enough of them around?

Or it could be a trap.....

So if anyone removes a mags from the shelf it sets off a chain reaction involving flashing disco lights, streamers, dry ice and a Red-Arrows flyby, not to mention a live TV link to the Sky news channel ...

I like my world .....

Central

Some people buy the so-called newspapers every day, so if may be a similar group. Not everyone has a smartphone. Some still have tiny phone screens in monochrome and the wife doesn't allow porn at home.

Coming home on the night bus late one night as we passed through Southall (large ethnic population) I noticed the guy in front was trying to have a sneaky peep at his nice new copy of Asian Babes hidden inside his newspaper. It was all I could do not to say anything. The other passengers did see me rocking hysterically in silent mirth.

Rocking hysterically... maybe it looked like you were wanking furiously.

Circulation will be incredibly low. I doubt it's a booming business, but enough to get by. As long as people are paying to advertise, they'll stick around.

Only 12 wank mags are released each year, they just swap the girls in the cover and in some cases change the name of the mag, no one has noticed

Wankers in BMWs. It's easier to have a quick wank to a skin mag in a lay-by than get the laptop out and stick your dongle in
