And I've met people I was wasn't attracted to and became attracted when we got talking.

Equally I've thought someone was really hot in ther photos. He turned up and I thought nah... and then we got talking and I was back to "fuck yeah".

Physically,if they haven't been photoshopped,yes. But,hotness is also part personality for me,so the illusion could be shattered on meeting. For instance I chatted to a man from a different online site,he had a super fit body,handsome face and good conversation. On meeting he was dressed nice and smelt lovely. When he spoke he sounded like an effeminate Lily Savage and waved his hands around a lot. I still fancied him but my illusion of his voice and personality matching his physique was well and truly shattered.

I agree with this sentiment - that hotness is looks alone - but I don't think pictures really accurately tell you how someone looks all the time. Some people are amazing at taking pics and look hot as hell, but then you meet them and they're just not all that. Other people take pics really badly but are naturally beautiful when you meet them.

So for me pictures haven't been a reliable indicator of hotness. Though they are the best we've got on the Interne, I'll admit.

This site has chat rooms with that facility.. There used to be 'Canada Invasions' once in a blue moon where forum users would invade one chat room so we could all see each other.

Some were brave to go on cam, others just watched.

I have no problem telling if someone is hot from their pics providing they are clear. I can honestly say I've been attracted to everyone I've met and I've based my judgement on how they look from their pictures and how the conversation flows....so yes. Yes I can. I have discovered from reading the forum that not everyone is good at this and they need to actually meet the person.

if their profile stood out to me,

if i had any encounters in the forum/messages from them in the past..

Very often, people do not always look like their photos. Every single time my wife has went to meet a single guy, it turns out that the photo is 10 years old, or they simply do not look like they do in the pic. There is lots of photo trickery to make oneself look better.

Also, personality is a HUGE determining factor! What good is it to be gorgeous if you are snobby, arrogant, smelly, creepy, uber weird, or stalker-ish!?? What a woman acts like or says has a lot to do with whether or not I find her attractive.

That said, I hate when I look at a profile, and ALL of the pictures are blurry. What's that about??

Had plenty meets where PIC seemed good but no attraction when we met on my part. You need to be beside someone to know if the chemistry is sizzling......

How can you asses chemistry from just a pic

you.cant.and thats why i dont find people hot just looking at the picture

For me "hot" is just an ascetic view ie I look at a pic n think "wow he's hot!". Then once chatting commences I decide if there is any chemistry or not. Xxx

No, though they may have been hotter 20 years ago, when taken - I often hear such reports, where they think the dad's turned up, to apologize and explain that his son couldn't make it.

Otherwise there are some ugly personalities and people can have good angles, as well as days that show them at their peak.

I was attracted to his personality and thought hey ho I'll give him a go.... met him for a coffee and he had me at the first kiss. And he's shorter than me which is already a no no for 5ft 10in me! Just goes to show re book and cover x
