Not all olives are the same! Just like grapes, there are different varieties and depending on how they are marinated will depend on there flavour. I prefer black olives from Portugal that have been infused with olive oil, garlic and orange jest, with chopped coriander.

There used to be a make of green olives stuffed with sun dried tomatoes in olive oil, very tasty! Using the oil afterwards added extra flavour to a dish too.

Olives are lush. Since I'm not allowed to eat onion at the moment I am using all sorts of chives, herbs and olives for flavoury explosions when I cook. I like all sorts but the big kalamata ones are a snack fave. Or big Queen olives in harissa paste.

My daughter took a couple of 'try me' olives from the deli counter at Morrisons once thinking they were grapes,we both spat them out!
