Fast food delivery

Just had food delivered which I paid online, when I was handed the bag I said thanks and gave him a quid tip. The man looked at me like I was a miser. "That's the last!" I thought to myself and closed the door. My friends reckon I should not tip as they are already being paid well for delivery. So my question is, do you tip the fast food delivery person?

If I pay online no

If I pay in cash I round it up to the next note and say keep the change

Having sat in with a friend while doing this, yes I tip...but I quite agree that you shouldn't tip if they're ungrateful. Even if it was 10p and they said keep the change, manners cost nothing. I'd always say thank you.

Always tip the driver irrespective of how I pay. What a rotten job. Poor fookers must really need the cash. I knew a woman who did it and they are paid buttons.

My foods usually half way back down the street by the time I get to the door, its amazing how may delivery guys hear the dog and are back out the gate by the time I get there

I've never even considered it... they just drive to people's houses and deliver food

I over tip everyone. Even at Starbucks

Being a waiter during my university days will do that too you.

In the US, yes - at least 20-22% for delivery.

In the UK, no. Most places around here charge a pound or two for delivery already.

Yes I'd give a tip as I would if I ate in a restaurant. Also because the delivery guys prob isn't all that well paid.

Most places around me don't charge for delivery above a minimum spend.

I normally use the same takeaways so would always give them whatever ever change I had up to a couple of quid and it's never seemed to be expected.

I always give them a few quid tip. Our local Indian dies a free bottle of wine with orders iver £40.

The driver carries a few bottles on the car.

My order is usual £21/£22 quid. He always gets given £25 and I always get a bottle of wine.

What goes around comes around. One way or another.
