I feel your pain ... When I was 8 and a half months pregnant I had a terrible chest infection and was coughing so hard I fractured a rib or two. My mum and sister both heard it and I fell to the floor in agony. Along came contractions with it.

Rest, get as comfortable as you can and try to stay as immobile as possible (easier said than done )

Thankfully the contractions stopped after a few hours but had to lie as still as possible until I properly went into labour, and when I did they were fearful that if I pushed too hard the rib(s) would break, so yeah, man up buttercup

Only kidding, it's bloody agonising so take it easy

I was going to come on to say I fractured a rib from coughing once, but contractions on top?!

3 years ago heavy flu - my right ribs were in agony from coughing so much

Then 2 weeks a injury - my fault meant couldn't cough at all
