Mum had a hip replacement 6 weeks ago and has the Same.

I ended up saying just ask me to carry stuff as it is easiar that clearing shit of the floor

I had similar problems but solved it hy having a small booze fridge near the chair and individual packets of cereal and a small jug of milk and ate cereal when alone and had dinner brought to my when family were home from work

If you've got kids or neighbours that do, get them to make a wheeled tray out of lego (plate sized) that you can put your stuff on when you've made it and pull it behind you with some string. If it's a cuppa then put some clingfilm over the top so it doesn't slop
