Just make sure its out of warranty, lol. Oh and switched off at the mains, as the laser can damage eyesight.

Get your shocks tested, that could be the cause of the jumping.

Happens when I'm on the ground before takeoff, I don't even need to have the turboprops spinning. I have ruled out earthquakes too

North Bristol

If you're cleaning any kind of small lens with a readily evaporating solvent, the best thing to do is make sure the lens is lying horizontally and carefully drop the solvent on so that it runs to the edges. This means you don't actually touch the glass and the liquid carries the dirt to the very edge of the lens where it won't be in the way.

get a cloth wipe the cd compartment to stop dust being picked back up by the disk spinning, the laser give a soft wipe with a clean cloth or clean finger tip, and should work again, unless its a model which you need to take apart to clean the laser.

Sometimes the laser needs to be cleaned very, very gently with a cotton bud moistened with isopropyl alcohol. It goes against all the rules but often what happens that it isn't just dust but a grimy film which covers the lens which no cleaning disk will ever shift.

Watchword is 'CAREFUL' lasers are very delicate and easily damaged.

I'd ask a CD directly, but am guessing a shower or bath would be the answer.
