Two Britons lose EU vote

Do you mean the one involving a 94 year old man who tried to contest that under law, that UK citizens who have lived abroad for more than 15 years cannot vote.....?

Agreed. The in vote will need the remain votes from the few million or so EU migrants who now reside in the UK.

Correct, the same rules apply to everyone equally in this referendum. If you have not lived here for 15 years or more then you don't get to vote on it. They are the rules which were set out from the start. Why should these 2 individuals be an exception?

Thats what I was Thinking as well but just wondered what others did.

Persoanlly I think the 15 years limmit is too long as they don't live here or support the country by spending thier money here.

I would haave thaught 10 years would be nearer the mark

Agreed. If you no longer Live here and have not for that long why should gets vote in how the country is run.

Admittedly, it would be better for the "in" camp if ex pats did (and I'm currently in supporter) but what's right is right. They shouldnt get a vote.

I'll be here 10 years on the 9th of June. But I do plan to move so I won't bother you lots.

Why should someone who's got no interest in living or contributing to this country any more still be allowed to decided how it's governed.

I have always believed in no representation without taxation.

By taxation, I mean eligibility for direct tax or payment of indirect tax such as VAT. For people who choose not to do so by way of voluntary absence, then it's too bad that they cannot vote.
