Well I don't watch much TV but I've just glimpsed an advert for baby milk and... Well firstly I noticed the obvious little writing underneath which was about breast milk actually being better than the shit they were selling you... But it was the bit after that, in case you haven't seen the advert, there's a small child swimming under water towards its mother... Anyhow the next writing was, never leave small children in the water alone!! And then the next message was, this baby was over 6 months old...I mean what the fuck is the world coming to.... It reminded me of the last advert I noticed which was for fiat 500s arriving in the UK from the continent, they arrived out of the sea and then the customers got into the car... Fair play it's an advert but then the small writing underneath was a warning saying "this car cannot be driven underwater".

Are the public really that fucking stupid these days or is it just the modern phenomenon of sueing for anything they didn't warn you about

I know someone who believed that the Pushme Pullyou in the Dr Dolittle film was real, there's a sizable minority who genuinely believe everything they see on the telly.

Like I say I don't watch much TV but it seems every time I do notice an advert... There's some quite obvious warnings, it's like having to tell my dog not to lie within an inch of the fire

There was a woman in America that sued a motor home company because it didn't state anywhere that cruse control didn't mean the vehicle didn't drive itself

While out driving she flicked it into cruse control and got up to make a cup of tea

Obviously crashed, put a claim in and won

America is also responsible for coffee cups carrying the warning that the content is hot after someone spilt their coffee in McDs.

No, I think there have always been a number of stupid people but with rising population numbers the percentage will remain about the same but the absolute number will be greater.

Plus, there are more things now.

Yep, there's a shampoo ad that tells you not to rub shampoo in your eyes whilst showing a woman doing just that

this is true on American Airlines.....seen it myself!

And a guy on TV debate the other day attacked EU rules that cost his Smoked Salmon Packaging company £20k. He had to alter the packaging to put a "may contain fish" warning on the packets of Salmon....ffs!

This "urban myth" is actually true but the judgement is a little more understandable than you might think.

The reason the claim was upheld was that many large vehicles that have cruise control have a switch that cancels the cruis if you lift your weight off the drivers seat. (Try it. You'll be surprised) I gues its to stop you turning the cruise on the them turning round to beat your kids in the back.

The Wininago motorhome did not have this switch fitted and it was argued that if ever a vehicle should have one, this was it.

Is it like those rappers that drive with one leg out the window!.

I mean that works great in the states with an auto but not so good in Birmingham in rush hour
