this made me laugh.

it's eugenics. this has been happening well before hitler made it famous.

societies have been trying to make their populations the fittest and most healthiest for a long time. it's why beauty pageants and beautiful baby contests were made, we even have crufts for our dogs.

people used to subscribe to it, now you can see all the campaigns for inclusion of everyone as beautiful. plus going off the quality of food we have now and how unhealthy our environments are i guess even society leaders have given up too.

Unfortunately some people will discriminate against others for various reasons.

Some being the following....

To make them feel better about themselves as they have their own personal issues of inadequacy to deal with.

And those that feel the need to be part of a pack who have similar discriminating views. Strength in numbers etc.

Ok, so this is my thoughts on it. (Dave here, the more male-ish one of us!)

I find that people want to pigeon hole people in a positive or a negative context.

We are sold the notion that everyhing has to be at one end or the other of these extremes.

Good people are supposed to be honest, good looking, family orientated, slim, hard working, nice, kind, friendly, successfull, inteligent etc, etc.

Bad people are supposed to be dishonest, ugly, lazy, fat, selfish, stupid, mean, etc, etc.

The reality is, of course, is that people are all mixes of all things. Some of the cleverest and hardest working people I know are fucking horible and some of the nicest are Lazy sods.

There have always been people who are fat but this wasn't necessarily seen as that negative.

Today though, people see someone who is overweight and make all other kinds of prejudiced judgements about them based on the "all good or all bad" image that the media wants us to buy into.

Before I continue I am a big guy who loves big women but through my lifestyle I have made myself diabetic I have eyesight problems kidney problems and worst of all ed so I for one am glad that the world is beginning to wake up to the dangers of sugar

I am a nurse but a healthy one to,blood pressure normal,blood sugar 5.2 just my bm high as I'm fat.

My grand mother was 18 Stone when she died ,aged 90.My mother is 17 stone and is 89 and alive but unwell at the moment so i really dont know

I think the advice is based on statistics though. There are smokers who are over 100, but it doesn't change the fact that smoking is generally bad for you. The trouble with statistics is they don't account for people's genes, which sometimes have a greater impact.

Besides, isn't butter meant to be good for you again nowadays?

Just a general society thing of what they think is best for people. In the 16th century it was better to be as big as possible as it was seen as a side of wealth.

These days though clothes and other materialism has replaced the signs of wealth. Weight is a sign of health something that scientifically we cant really argue with.

Some people are naturally slim some work hard at it. Some dont mind being big some hate it. Its all fine to me until someone feels they are better than someone else because of appearences.

To go back to your original point, yes, bigger people can be very fit, like slim people can be very unfit. Size does not determine your levels of fitness. Some Larger size people can run a marathon no problem while some slim people can't go up 3 flight of stairs without loosing breath.

And the same apply to some slim are fit and some large are unfit.

Some larger people kick my butt on most runs

I train 5 days a week not because I think I'm better than anyone else, I love the gym and the banter and it destress me from work, my Mrs hates the gym lol, and gets me to pick her a chinise up in the way home, hence why I love her so much and she is Bbw, if we all looked the same it would be boring, I love curvy ladies / bbw and fat woman, you are who you are, simple as that xx

Those that put others down need to look at themselves first. Everyone has what they'd see as an imperfection. It doesn't need pointing out like its a giant bedsore. I see way more appreciation threads for BBW than any other body type on here.

When the thread is less appreciative of the larger woman it gets jumped on ensuing a battle between the 'outraged' & the people who like to bait.

I find that people want to pigeon hole people in a positive or a negative context.

We are sold the notion that everyhing has to be at one end or the other of these extremes.

Good people are supposed to be honest, good looking, family orientated, slim, hard working, nice, kind, friendly, successfull, inteligent etc, etc.

Bad people are supposed to be dishonest, ugly, lazy, fat, selfish, stupid, mean, etc, etc.

The reality is, of course, is that people are all mixes of all things. Some of the cleverest and hardest working people I know are fucking horible and some of the nicest are Lazy sods.

There have always been people who are fat but this wasn't necessarily seen as that negative.

Today though, people see someone who is overweight and make all other kinds of prejudiced judgements about them based on the "all good or all bad" image that the media wants us to buy into. "

Well i was on multiple medications for years with the primary side effect "can cause excessive weight gain".

So i was careful with what i ate and made sure i exercised.

Just like the doctor said to.

I've always got a little bit of a belly but thats cause I'm no whee near dedicated to get below 16% body fat normaly i hang around the 18% region.

I like cooking though so i don't tend to eat loads of sugar found in ready meals and takeaways

Im a big girl but far from unhealthy

Work full time (midwife) 3 kids etc

But in real life i get no attention from males

Well i was on multiple medications for years with the primary side effect "can cause excessive weight gain".

So i was careful with what i ate and made sure i exercised.

Just like the doctor said to.

I've always got a little bit of a belly but thats cause I'm no whee near dedicated to get below 16% body fat normaly i hang around the 18% region.

I like cooking though so i don't tend to eat loads of sugar found in ready meals and takeaways"

Not everyone over weight eats take aways and ready meals. You obviously don't find overweight people attractive and that's your view. But we are still people and have feelings. I don't understand the need to put us down so much. We don't all just lie about, it's a battle that we keep fighting.

It's reguarlt brought up that processed food contains a lot of sugar and that a lot of people dont cook any more which is contributing to the obeasity epidemic.

I said i like cooking becauses its a mitigating factor in weight issues i know what im eating exactly so its easier for me to control. Than say somone looking purely at the kcal value of a packet rather than the macro content.

Theres always excusea but cold hard facts are if your obease its because for a long period of time you ate far more than you burned.

Well for breakfast I'm having one lousy boiled egg and a dry piece of wholemeal toast with tomotoes on but what i really want is fried egg,bacon,black pudding,mushrooms,sausage,beans,all with loads of toast

The key us finding what works for you.

Low carb works great for shedding the weight but for me just impossible i last about 4 days then eat a whole pack of chocolate digestives.

Paleo diet is good.

Latley ive been having a lot of prawns and the aldi thai stirfry veg.

Fry the prawns with some, ginger, garlic, finely chopped onion, little honey and aome diced red chilly little splash of sherry and pour over the stir fry veg (or do it all in one pan)

My GP told me that some people just aren't mean't to be slim, no matter how hard they try. That was a bit of an "oh" moment for me.

I now just try to be healthy. I walk the dog, go to the gym (mainly to listen to the men breathing hard ) and I eat reasonably well, but I'm still a big gal. I have probably fucked my body up with the endless diets in my teens and 20's, and I find it incredibly hard to lose weight. Easy to put it on though!!

All the women on my nan's side of the family have massive arses / hips and big tummies. So I blame my nan and genetics!

And the occassional Yorkie Bar.

Put of curiosity why go on a "diet".

Why not just work out what your bmr is what you burn daily and just shave say a moderate 100-200kcal off it.

Eat whatever as long as it fits your macros and slowly and steadily lose weight till you plateo then shave a little more off.

Or offset with excercise but its much easier to shed calories from your plate than in the gym in 5 mins you can eat more than you can burn in 5 hours.
