Appalling behaviour. Hope you get it sorted. People like that shouldn't be in that type of work.

How upsetting and disgusting that someone in a public job to treat anyone like that. If a passenger noticed that your son needed help getting home, then the inspector should have realised that he had special needs. I would be livid, too, if that had happen to my son (16 and has autism, too).

I would write a letter to their head office, explaining what had happen and name the inspector. Did you get the other passenger's name? You will get more of a response with a letter, rather than just a phone call.

Formal complaint in writing to head office. Address it personally to the highest person you can find. If they have Facebook or Twitter post it on their public wall too you'll be amazed how much effect that has.

Give them hell

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Ask them what equality and diversity training staff get alongside their customer service training. Insist that they implement this as part of their commitment to ensure it never happens again.

The guy sounds like a jobsworth prick on a power trip. As others have said make a formal complaint, post on social media, generally kick up a stink.

Despicable way to treat anyone never mind someone who is vulnerable.

I hope your son gets back his confidence and the tram company should make the inspector apologise.

That £100 fine will be wiped immediately I guarantee it, so tell him not to worry about that.

Use book of face and even a national paper if you can, to shame them.

So sad that we have people who would treat others this way.

I'd use social media and think you could get massive support against them.

The Equality Act means they must provide service that's reasonable for your son. Theirs obviously was not. If as Lickety says they're not providing training then again it's a total fail legally.

The fine cannot stand imo.

As above; use social media to embarrass them in return.

Get your venting out here and deal with them calmly. Point out the effect this idiots behaviour has had on your son and explain calmly why.

Suggest they need to train their staff on how to treat people with traits such as your son. My son has Asperger's syndrome so I know how much little things can upset him let alone a response like yours has endured.

Problem there is there are so many jerks out there in the world - should not be allowed to serve the public.

Hope your son settles down, I know how situations like that to someone sensitive can be extremely difficult.

Its so difficult to present a calming influence while seething inside as well.

Hope you get a good result in the end.

Get social media involved, I am sure there are plenty who have had the same bad experience as your son.

A nice complaint mentioning what the thug did to your son on Twitter or Facebook can do wonders in the apology department, also give encouragement to others who have had the same treatment.
