I have been FODMAPping for two months. No flare ups since. As to the pain, meberevine from my GP (who also suffers from it) helped when I first went to see her. And paracetamol rather than aspirin or ibuprofen. And curling up in the foetal position. I'm about to start reintroducing foods but I am waiting until I have time off work first just in case.

Has it been properly diagnosed? Have they tested you for food intolerances at all?

I suffered years ago as I was stressed at the time. I cut out gluten and wheat then.

Mebeverine. And play around with foods that may trigger it. Google for the usual suspect triggers.

Mine is bad when I eat a lot of sugar/dairy. I've cut back so I almost never have it, and no IBS!

And I've discovered peppermint tea is really good for your digestive system and it tastes yummy too. So many people have recommended peppermint tea and I wish I'd tried it years ago.

I began suffering from IBS over 10 years ago. It was always triggered by fatty foods such as McDonald's or fatty beef. I now watch what I eat and have also taken prebiotic drinks once a day. I have the occasional case but no where near what I had in the past.
