"Wicked lot! Did you do it with your children though? lol" No, my ex-husband used to rub my middle daughter's thumb in lemon juice to stop her sucking it though. She's 23 and still sucks her thumb!

"When my son was about 7 and his teeth had started falling out he swallowed one. I told him to be careful because if it landed in the toilet it would jump up and bite him on the bum. He ended up constipated for a week as he refused to go to the toilet. You have to be so bloody careful what you say and do with kids sometimes" My friend used to say to her son "the spider is going to get you" by way of trying to get him to behave. He's 20, and absolutely petrified of spiders. She's had to do daily "spider watch" when he's at home as he's so scared. Her husband refuses to help her as he did tell her it would frighten him. She's left work to go home as he's had a panic attack thinking he's seens a spider. He's in his second year at uni and told his flatmates straight off that he's afraid of spiders, so now they do a daily check for him.

It's without doubt the best thing I've ever done. It's one of the easiest phobias to cure and doesn't take much other than a willingness for that sort of life takeover to be over. PM me if you want the whole story!

"I just remembered something else we used to do for our own amusement. My son was a very small but forward baby. Weighing 8lb at 6 months and 15lb at a year. Used to be funny when people put the head in the pushchair cooing over the "newborn" baby and he would smile at them with a full set of teeth. Also when he was one, used to take him out the pushchair at the park and let him runround and on the climbing frame some of the mothers where having kittens watching him up there swinging at the top" crumbs.. my lil lass only has 8 teeth and is still unsure of the climbing frames, she'll run around though but anything new she is really cautious of

Was climbing out his cot by 9months had to take the reigns of the high chair cause he would climb out and nearly hanghimself and teach him to go up and down stairs as the stair gate was no good lol. I never molly coddled him for being small but then i wasnt used to any different
