Natural beauty or cosmetically enhanced

Yesterday I was out for lunch with 8 strong women and the subject turned to how we look. 3 were wanting Botox 5 against it. But what I found so very sad is that the ones who wanted it ultimately wanted it to look good for others.

So what do you prefer a natural beauty with an odd laughter line and boobs that bounce uncontrollably. Or cosmetically enhanced and not moving?

Got to be natural. There's nothing better than a woman who is confident in her own skin and willing to flaunt what the gene pool handed out. Cosmetics just make people look plastic fantastic and is not for me I'm afraid.

I think wrinkles looks good in appropriately aged individuals.

Botox enhanced taut face with saggy neck/arms looks weird.

How about dying hair, shaving/waxing, make up, sun beds/fake tans, gel nails, blah blah blah? All enhance elements of the natural.

My own little world

I wear makeup to cover how tired I really am, I have worn underwear to help make me look slimmer, I wear heels to look taller.....

We all like to make the best of what we have but we also fake it regularly.

As long as you are happy does it really matter how much "help" you have had to look a certain way?

I've had botox twice now, its OK so long as you don't get addicted to it and end up with freeze face

I prefer the more natural look on ladies but the odd fairly unnoticeable bit of this and that I don't mind.

It's the bloated lips and pure plastic looking bodies that turn me right off. I don't care how long I've gone without sex, there's no way I'm throwing my bones over a Barbie wannabe

I can't stand the huge lips, if it makes them happy fair play to them but I just look at some women and think why would you do that to yourself, each to their own I guess

Exactly my point. All 3 of my friends after chatting basically said they're were doing it too look better to the other sex. Not to make them happy. And yet looking at the male responses they are doing it but the majority of men don't like it. A bit like make up I suppose. most of my male friends prefer the natural look

I did it for myself, not for the opposite sex (or given my sexuality the same sex!). I'm jolly glad I did too.

As for the 'natural look' in make up. Chaps need to understand that doesn't mean no make up, just different make up and often far more of a task to do well.

As I said I've had botox, I had it for me though, I have nobody to look good for so it wasn't for anybody else

I just don't like the lines round my eye's so I though I'd give it a bash, to be honest I don't think I'd bother again the outcome for the money you pay isnt worth it

I'm not going to lie though I'd love a tummy tuck and have seriously looked into it, after having three c sections its well and truely fucked, at times it actually stops me meeting people because I'm so paranoid about guys seeing it, when I have sex I never get naked I have to have something round my mid riff it affects me that much

I think at times its swings and roundabouts

OK so a lot don't like cosmetic surgery but if it gives you more confidence and makes you able to enjoy yourself better is it a bad thing?

If I had the money and were a bit younger I'd get different things done like my boobs as mine are very saggy after breastfeeding two children (where they increased to basketball size ) and then deflated dramatically when I stopped, and then losing/gaining weight etc.

However, I'd get it done for me, not for anyone else. It's my body, I have to live with it and lovers/partners come and go.

I'm a severe supporter of natural beauty. Even prefer ladies not to use make up everyday.

Much prefer the more natural look.

The odd enhancement isn't out of the question, eg. Hair dye, nails, makeup etc just to enhance what you already have.

I get my nails done but that's mostly because of my job and I'm getting a spray tan because I don't want skin cancer!!

I would never rule out cosmetic surgery, but it frightens me and I can't afford it!!! I have gone through stages where I have wanted my boobs done and my tummy sorted but that mostly passes and I make the most of what nature gave me

Suppose it's down to personal preference but for me, would be no fake tan, no stupidly long fake lashes etc... Just enhance what you already have without going overboard.

The irony is people men who have commented or read this thread and say they prefer natural will forget about it in a few days and end up sending you a message.

I didn't have the confidence to make the most of what I had when I was younger before having kids, so I have no qualms about using whatever it takes to get the body back to go with the new confidence now....just a case of saving up for it!

I wonder what the guys who prefer "natural" are picturing in their heads?

I am guessing they want naturally full lipped, pert boobed, smooth skinned women who look great with no makeup?

I think they are really saying they don't like badly done enhancement.

I don't think many (any?) would kick someone out of bed if they'd had botox or a boob job, because if it's done well, you can't tell.

My friend has had a boob job. And hair extensions. I didn't realise until she told me. I never would have guessed. She gets a hell of a lot more attention than me when we go out together.

I get my roots done every 6 weeks but that's more for me than anyone else as very few can see the top of my head

I get my eyebrows waxed once a month but luckily I've never had to worry about wrinkles as I have good skin...

although it may be a different story in 10 years time...but all the women in my family have always looked younger than their age

I prefer someone who is comfortable in their own skin, whether that's with or without cosmetic enhancement. I wax, I dye my roots, I have been known to wear makeup, nail varnish and hoik my boobs up lingerie on a date. I've also met regulars straight after work with my glasses on, grey roots, hair up in a ponytail, not a scrap of makeup, everyday underwear and in between waxes because I felt comfortable doing so.

If I could afford it then I would get my boobs lifted and pouchy tummy sorted. Weight loss and gravity have had a cumulative effect on those. But it's not a priority since I am comfortable in my own skin and that's really what matters.

The most beautiful of women are the ones that are happy, confident and content, who care how they achieved that, if by the grace of God, a great surgeron or buying out the cosmetic counter at boots.
