poor sinead , a very talented soul , shes been thru the mill recently god bless her , hope shes ok and gets all the help she needs , families can be cruel to those who always did their best for them , no matter what , shes a vunerable woman whos health hasnt been great the last while (massive gynealogical issues) , believe it or not sinead o connor has done a lot of things for people and a very spiritual soul she is too , i wish her all the best .

Maybe they do. She seems to have some severe illness and, whilst she may have done and said hurtful things, she is still their mother.

My aunt was quite a violent schizophrenic. Spent a lot of her life on psych wards. I used to visit her regularly and she could be seriously abusive to the point of reducing people to tears.

When she died of cancer I was devastated.

My friend has mental issues and he drinks now and again but cannot cope with hangovers he says he feels 10 times worse with an hangover and very depressed,hence thats why hes cut down on boozing

Why does it have to be all down to mental illness. She is a professional performer. Many performers have an egotistical streak a mile high, but that doesn't give them the right to write vile and disgusting things about their children.

She may have once had a pretty face, she may have a half decent voice but beauty is only skin deep.

I don't have to like what she says, I don't have to like her personally, I don't have to accept anything that she says.

She may well be ill but that doesn't give anyone making apologies for her behaviour the right to be rude and insulting about others.

No, you're right you don't have to like her, but you should still be understanding that she may not have total control of her behaviours. She has been sectioned previously for her erratic behaviour, which should give you an idea of how extreme it can be.

And if you're going to be rude and insulting, it's absolutely fine for that behaviour to be identified as disgusting, nasty, vile, rude or any other negative adjective because that's what it is.

You seem to have mistaken identifying rude and disgusting remarks for being rude and disgusting.

Saying something is nasty is one thing, calling someone vile and disgusting is another.

It's not a particularly nice trait to have and does call for a modicum of self control.

Self control is often beyond some people unfortunately.
