Some people have 5 second charisma, others have charisma that suits them, rather than appearing to be attention seeking. I'd say there's a few layers to charisma, rare that there is true charisma in a person.

"How do you define it?"

I imagine everyone has their own ideas as to what they find charismatic. Hard to describe. I just know it when I see it.

Personally for me it's a mix of traits like humility, combined with self-confidence and good intellect and knowledge. The ability to engage with others and inspire. With that touch of uniqueness and other worldliness. Plus a few intangibles you can't quite put your finger on.

"How do you define it?

Presence."

That's definitely a better way of phrasing it than my attempt, or most.

So you believe that charisma is a completely random thing attributed to nothing more than a roll of the dice?

It's the right kind of name to call a car and also a perfume for women or aftershave for men.

An air that draws people to you, but it's not always a positive. Lots of crooks and cult leaders would be classed as charismatic.

Yes my ex had it - presence, looks, charm and a vibe you could not ignore. I always said he'd make a good cult leader. Narcissist often have charisma sadly.
