I've had it a couple of times and I was very ill. I feel for you. I found gargling with soluble aspirin helped a lot.

I used to get it loads as a teenager. It's a good excuse for lots of ice cream.

My mum used to give me TCP in a spoonful of sugar - I don't recommend it as it tasted bloody awful.

Is the pits!!! It's more than a sore throat - it's the flu like symptoms too. Get lots of rest & take loads of painkillers - gargle with soluble paracetamol

Quite my sister had tonsilitis but couldn't get her tonsils out cause I gave her chicken pox. She ended up having fits and living in hospital for 18 months x
