No, not a sequel to Snakes on a Plane but an actual occurance.

I wont bore with the details but two aforementioned fellas were giving a young woman a hard time on the train home about midnight.

She was more than holding her own so I did my best to keep out but decided to be the knight in shining armour when it was obvious they were not going to let up.

Anyone else feel the need to intervene in these kind of situations?

I knew there was nothing in it for me although she was very attractive and I wouldn't have said no

I used to get cruised on last train back from Victoria to Selhurst regularly in the 90's by men...had some fun !!

But as to intervening, the honourable thing to do...and hopefully not get stabbed up.

I have. A d*unk guy on the bus late one might was trying to put various perfumed oils on the woman on the opposite side of the aisle. She wks sitting behind the driver right at the front and couldn't get away from him. She clearly didn't want him rubbing stuff all over her and he wasn't stopping when she asked him to. The bus was quite full and I was the only other female sat downstairs, all the guys were looking at each other expecting someone else to do something but obviously didn't want to risk getting into any altercation (fair enough), so I rang the bell, got up and stood between them and then apologised to the driver saying I'd rang the bell and it was the wrong stop.

The guy tried to put the perfumed oils on me but I told him I couldn't wear them because I have allergies, rather than exacerbate the situation it was easier to defuse it.

If I had been the woman at the front of the bus I would have been hoping someone would do something similar for me.

Yes. Absolutely.

I am , by nature, a 'challenger' and find it virtually impossible to walk away from any situation where something needs to be said or done.

Que someone saying "well it serves you rogut if you get beaten up or stabbed".

Yep, it's always a risk but as the saying goes:

"All it takes for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing".

If more people stood up for each other there would be a lot less arseholes around.

A gay hairdresser threw Bombay gin over me in a train once.

I know he was a hairdresser because him and his hairdresser colleagues spent two hours on a train to London making sure everyone in the carriage know they where HAIRDRESSERS and they were GOING TO LONDON to GET AN AWARD.

I knew he was gay because when not going on about the AWARD they were GETTING in LONDON, he was describing what he particularly liked his partners to do to him, especially RIMMING.

I ended up having a bitchy name-calling session as we got off (the train!) at Paddington.

I have nothing against gay guys or hairdressers, just gin-slinging drink gay hairdressers.

Very true. I did it after football once when a guy was having a go at his girlfriend for texting her friend and demanding to see her phone etc.

He was really getting aggresive with her. He thought shouting at me would work too until I stood up, and kept standing up. He then sat down and stared out the window

Indeed - I should count myself lucky it was the 2.15 from Swansea to Paddington and not the 2.15 from New York to Chicago

Intervened in a domestic in Camden last year, late afternoon and a guy shouting at his girlfriend who was in tears. After a few minutes devided it was tine to say something and he was quite surprised that telling me to fuck off didn't work. Took a few punches but other people stopped him and thankfully he buggered off and police arrived just as he returned with a heavy glass ashtray he was clearly planning to use on me. I was later told by the police that they classed tgat as carrying an offensive weapon which he accepted a caution for (along with several other offences), and while they never told me his job they did say they believed it required an enhanced CRB check so the consequences were pretty severe for him. His girlfriend begged the police not to arrest him as he would blame her. That was pretty harrowing.

Oh and then there was the time at a tube station late at night where the guy was told by his date she didn't want a second one so he tried to get money from her as he'd brought her dinner and then tried to pull her handbag off her after she refused. That didn't end well for him!

London and France

Guy ( not a gay lol) on a train getting violent with the female ticket inspector .

Several big strapping fit young men in the carriage suddenly became very interested in their books/ iPads/ what was outside the window.

Up to me to take him down. ( helped by a petite young lady who turned out to be a nurse . ) And subsequently an off duty policewoman from the next carriage who heard the commotion and came to see what had happened and arrested him.

And a bunch of the passengers got narky because the train had to make an unscheduled stop at the next station so the police could take the guy off the train .
