... what style would you choose?

I'd like mine to be in Art Deco style, just love that period of styling.

I'd go for a '50's type theme and it would also have an extra outbuiding which would contain a fully functioning Strowger telephone exchange ....

Now that would be a funny house wouldn't it ?

And possibly, space permitting, another building which would be a reconstruction of a colliery lamp cabin, complete with lamps ...

Ditto, have lived on the coast all my life and always been within 30 mins walk of the beach, couldn't imagine living inland.

I quite like the idea of a mock castle, with its only tower. I would put my bedroom at the top to get the best _iew.

I would install a lift though, as my knees are not what they used to be!

North Bristol

I don't know! There are so many possibilities!

*Her* and I have discussed it though and we've come to an agreement. I get to design the kitchen, cinema and all the electrics (oh and the 6 car garage) and Her gets everywhere else lol.

another question would be where would you build it? Mountains? Sea? River?

Yeah ... we live 5 minutes away from the sea, and the river is just outside our back gate .. It's boooootiful. Funny thing we never think twice about it and sometimes it's so easy to forget how lucky we are to live where we do

as long as it was not overlooked, big windows, high ceilings, minimalist.

but anything by the sea would be acceptable, love to be outdoors.

I would build mine by a lake, backed against a mountain.

Or by a beach, with access to the beach from the house so that I can take the dog on walks on the beach whenever I like.

A Georgian mansion with sweeping drive in either Dulwich Village, Wandsworth Common, Norfolk or Cheshire.

Sigh...

near the sounds of the wimborne quarter jack!

Another who likes the deco style which would suit a sea front location although I`m not so much of a sea side person. I`d prefer mine ext to a wood or forest and built "upside down" so that I could have great _iews from full depth lounge windows. And it would need a huge garage too!

south london

how we have thought about this!

Deco (and we mean really deco with a flat roof)

or Georgian (sort of house Elizabeth Bennett would live in )

Or Victorian Gothic

Or Victorian Italianate

or modernist Frank Lloyd Wright modern not sodding Kevin Mcleod trendy modern

that enough to be going on...?

Edinburgh

I'd have a little white cottage with a thatched roof, lots of windows and cosy rooms with an open fire and a garden to grow stuff with a pond (or a lake depending on the lottery win)... I'd like old fashioned sinks and a toilet with the cistern up high with a chain to pull the flush and a roll top bath with the taps in the middle and I'd have a dog and a raeburn and I'd bake every day and write and generally potter!

Oh and no neighbours!

For us it would have to be a Huf Haus - awesome pieces of kit and either have it on top of a hill somewhere or next to the beach
