You need to get up north! The sun was cracking the flags today!

I'd like to return to the Falklands, I spent 4 months down there but never got to do a battlefield tour.

South Africa - Cape Town to be exact. I know it's dangerous but one of my exes grew up there and it looks so beautiful.

Corfu as well - another ex was born there and My Family & Other Animals is one of my favourite novels.

I spent 2 weeks there in 2007, not once did I ever feel it was unsafe. I would definitely recommend it to anyone to visit. A beautiful city, with very friendly and welcoming people.

Won't be looking for pirate loot or mermaids but loads of interesting things to look forward to. More a working expedition with a trip to the rain forest thrown in. Hope to spot a lemur or two .

Venezuela was interesting in the Chavez era and very beutiful in places inland. Isla Margareta, which was being touted as a Caribean destination rearly wasn't, it is far more south american in style and culture and very windy. Great for kite or windsurfing but uncomfortable on the beach.

If your going to Venezuela to see Angel Falls research the seasons well. In the dry season there is very little to see except a cliff. The nearby nature preserve was interesting but being in a light aircraft flying at a vertical rockface was worrying to say the least (it was far, far worse of a trip a few days later).

Personally I would love to head off to Bear Gryll's island but I would insist on taking some of my own gear. I would want to do it with the hopeless kit and other people on his shows.
