It's like getting off the bus without paying...

A few years back before I moved up here, I asked my company if I could use my company vehicle to drive to Newcastle and back and they said I could so long as I pay for the fuel - and 0.40p/mile. I declined.

Last week the turbo unit on my company vahicle blew rendering it undrivable, but they couldn't get another vehicle to me before Sunday so asked me if I could use my own car for the week.

I said "sure, but you pay the fuel - and 0.40/mile" - they had no choice but to agree as I HAD to be in Surrey for Monday morning.

So down I went, in my car, used it all over Surrey for the week (communting from my parents house in Bedfordshire), then drove it back up last night - a round trip of 1,570 miles @ 0.40p/mile.

...and I've just taken it for a full valet @ £44.00 as it was absolutely filthy and I couldn't possibly hand it back to Siren in that condition.

Ta.

i dont do much travelling for work and so when i have to do it i have to use my car and claim the petrol back (using the most confusing online system ever!!!)

but they will only pay me for the mileage to and from the place as it says on the AA website, even if i get lost and do loads more miles trying to find the damn place!!!!
