"I don't know if anyone noticed but Danny Alexander, Chief Secretary to the Treasury and Fib Dem second in command of lies and deceits, announced yesterday that he's asked the EU to allow the UK government to reduce the price of fuel in the islands off the north and west coasts of Scotland (and the Isles of Scilly) by 5 pence per litre. It's no coincidence that he's asking now, BEFORE the Scottish parliamentary elections in May, that an answer won't be given till AFTER the same elections and the the Scottish Islands are prime Fib Dem territory (I dunno about Scilly). Apart from anything else it seems a bit unfair that far flung places in the UK won't benefit from this merely because they're on the mainland. PS. I'm not convinced the EU will agree anyway." It's a lead up to the government bringing this in for many rural areas, where fuel is often much more expensive than in towns. If they trial it and it works then I expect to see this in the autumn budget....it won't make people feel any better though....if they haven't got a job they won't be driving a car much anyway.

"Well luckily there are pumps at the low 130 range still about 15 miles away... So if I'm in that area I fill up or even just top up the tank there to save money! 45 litres x (say) 7 pence difference is £3.15... or £163 a year if like me your on a tank roughly a week? I travel a round trip of 60 miles to and from work each day and taking all things into account... For the money I earn it's starting to get to the crunch point of being totally pointless going to work... the expense of having a job ie motoring cost, fuel and parking, insurance, etc... It will all out strip the benefit of what I can earn from attending work soon!? How fucking stupid is that! " transit and a big 2 litre diesel car here too and our motoring costs are horendous but needed. pardon the courseness but fuel isnt expensive in this country ,its the amount of tax this fucktard government and previous ones have stuck on it. thank god were non smokers too

"they think putting up the fuel will drive us to use public transport, so very far from the truth, its expensive, unreliable then when you get of you still have to walk for miles to get were you want to. us for one are jst cutting back on other things nd iam sure there are many doing the same so by putting up fuel they'll prob coz another recession." Yes as i work in a pub that i would have to catch a bus to town and another bus to the pub, its only 20 mins walk, just wouldnt fancy that at 1am
