Hi, I'm IslandMonkey and although I've been on here for ages, I have popped in and out, you just didn't notice.

Anyway, I've just gone Silver again after a long break and instantly been noticed locally by 'certain people' who are proving to be a bit of a pain in the ass!

Why do they do it?

Have any of you come across this kind of harassment and how did you deal with it?

Wrexham is only a small pisspot town but I think it has a population of about 135,000... I guess I'm just unlucky!

you do look quite distinctive. .if your walking around town with that hat on no wonder people have recognized you. .maybe have a profile pic wearing a different hat that you don't wear out and about ..that would throw the locals off the scent maybe. .

I applaud your accurate description of Wrexham! I also know there are quite a lot of other people from Wrexham on here too so if you are well known around the town it stands to reason you will be recognised....either change your text or block them and move on

Any of us could attract hassle. Prevention is better than cure but I'd not relinquish silver - it's probably not that imo.

Report everyone who isn't respectful and block them. Use filters to block categories of user, if there's a trend.

The hat is a relic of an old fancy dress night... Blues Brothers! It's not something I'd ordinary wear... The glasses are there cos I need em. They're not a disguise, I just forgot to take them off!

I'm still learning with the filters, some block too much, some block too little... quite a fine line between all.
