Have you been yet, or going to your polling station ?

Just dropping the sprog off at ballet and nipping in

Also what's the most unusual polling station you've been in ?

Pubs, village halls or somewhere different to a leisure centre ?

Mines in a church so I should keep my actual opinions of all the candidates to myself

Over the rainbow, under the bridge

I always vote at the local community centre which is used as the polling station. Hardly unusual or exciting.

The only election in norfolk today was the local police commissoner one and seeing as no political party or the council has put any leaflets to explain anything about it

Yep. Mine's in the local church hall. Not a very exciting location but there was actually a queue, which warmed my cockles.

I used to help staff the elections, and I had a couple of low count unusual ones, one was a garden shed!!! And another was quite literally a front room of a home at some traffic lights, I think we had a great footfall of three at that one lol

I always use postal voting, but seeing as our only local election was for the police commissioner - and none of the candidates bothered to canvass or leaflet drop - it seemed a pointless vote

Postal vote for me, too.

I do shift work, so I find it much easier.

People died (and still do in some parts of the world) fighting for the right to vote. So even if I only have minimal information, I always excersise my right to vote.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

It's not yet 100 years (1918) since all men and all women (1928) got the vote in this country. It annoys me that people take this right so lightly when there are people still fighting for and dying for the right to cast a vote.

I have had the same polling station ever since I could vote. I popped along this morning and was pleased to see neighbours there waiting to vote too.

I hope the turnout hasn't been too low.

"Ours was just for the Police comissioner. Isn't it London Mayor too?"

Yes, it's the Mayoral and London Assembly elections. Our local authority elections are in two years.

I'm not sure everyone will have understood the ballot paper for the mayoral elections. You have a first and second choice but you can't cast two votes (1st and 2nd) for the same candidate otherwise it is a spoilt ballot. That wasn't clear.

While I did vote (well spoil my ballot, but I voted in principle), I won't be guilted into voting if I don't want to or feel well enough informed to.

People fought for the right to vote not the obligation

Cannock

I went and voted when I got home from work, 2 things to vote on, police commissioner and also the local council elections. My polling station was in a port-a-cabin on an old people's home car park. A company i used to work for had a polling station at their premises for 30 years or more, they cleared one of the offices and used that room for it.

I do it by post as I'm not always able to make it on the day, although I think I may start doing it at the polling stations in future so I can take my boys and explain the process and the reasons it's so important.
