Just realised some bugger has nicked my wheelie bin from outside my house...!

I mean I know times are hard, but a wheelie bin...??? And it wasn't a particularly new one either!

There's some strange buggers around....

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

My street went through a phase of wheelie bin wars and more than half of them disappeared. We're still not back to the full complement but the end house has four!

OP, get one of those wheelie bin covers. See if you can get a one.

The problem is most (if not all councils) charge for replacements. When my ex had his nicked he 'acquired' next doors whilst they were out of the country and their house was up for sale!

My work colleague has that problem regularly. Considering the area some people probably using them as garden sheds or prams

The idiot kids round where I live used to steal the wheelie bins, take them to the end of the street and set fire to them. By all accounts you can get high off the fumes! oh what a wonderful world in which we live

There is a wheelie bin napper in our road. Our council charges for replacements.

We brought stickers for ours with house number and street on. Touch wood, they haven't gone walkies since.

Titz Towers, North Notts

In my younger days, I and my friends used to play a game called: 'Wheelie Bin Convention'

The rules were simple, we'd acquire as many wheelie bins as possible and then place them all on one person's garden. They would wake up, open the curtains and discover 20 or so wheelie bins from their street all sat on their garden.

Note, do not do this to distant future in-laws, because 5 years later, you will be grassed up

On my street its the recycling bins that go missing, I've lost 3 this year. If you contact your council tell them you recently moved in and there's no bin they might replace it for free.

I couldn't really chain it up - it would have made it tricky for the bin men to empty it....!
