"This should be fun ![]() ![]() I think Americans consider our Conservative politicians to be somewhat socialist? Bernie Sanders is about the closest they've got to a proper one. You wait. If - and it's a big if - if Corbyn is still Labour leader at the next election, I wonder if Americans will view him with the same level of bemusement and fear that most regard Trump. "This should be fun ![]() ![]() But the difference is that British isn't a particularly powerful country in the grand scheme of things. I doubt more than 50% of americans could name our current Prime minister. America is a key country in international politics, along with Russia, China and the OPEC countries. Fortunately, as others have mentioned, it's President isn't necessarily all that powerful so swings and roundabouts.

"And they said on here old Donald wouldn't do it. (Comical Ali) Strap in for a bumpy ride it's going to get messy. " He hasn't done it yet. He has to be formally nominated at the GOP convention in Cleveland in July. This could well be a watershed moment for the Republicans as they absolutely don't want Trump, but the backlash from the army of Trump supporters if he is not formally nominated could be very damaging (literally).

"Sanders wins are all narrow though, and in states that apportion delegates proportionally that's no good Where Hilary wins in places like New York and Caifornia (she's well ahead in their polls there) she tends to win comfortably and they've got lots of delegates Sanders will drag it out but the maths are worse for him than they were for Cruz" just a quick point of correction.... on the democratic side all states are dealt with on a proportional basis... the reason for the lead is a) sanders got crushed in the south.... and b) the super delegates have basically all come down on the side of clinton i think the once thing we have seen is that sanders always starts way behind, but in the states where he actively campaigns, he does really well..... the moment of the 4 big wins in a row (if he does it) coming into california especially if oregon is as i expect somewhere close to 70-30 sanders.... i can see for example where NoCal... (San Fran, Oakland ect) will be strong sanders.... and SoCal (LA, San Diego) will be strong Clinton areas.....

It's ironic that as things stand, the democrats will have a candidate that is more in the pocket of "Big greedy corporations" than republicans. Honestly I couldn't have picked two worse candidates from the original line up. This is like a choice between Dianne Abbot or Jeremy Hunt

For sanders it was always about raising awareness in corruption in politics. Ie big money. He'll "drag it" as long as he's got a platform.... But let's not forget Clinton dragged it out all the way to California against Obama with very little chance of winning. I suspect Hillary will struggle more than people think, she's got terrible approval ratings, she's actually disliked massively by alot of democrats and absolutely hated by Republicans. And unlike sanders trump will dig up plenty of shit on her... Her biggest problem politically is her hawkishness with war!, we've yet to hear the redacted 28 pages of the 911 commission but the governor who has seen them has been pretty honest about its implications and then there's the ongoing FBI email investigation... I certainly don't think she'll be in for a easy stroll

"Sanders knows he can't win but wants to influence Hilary's policies to include some of his priorities, and to be fair I think he has and will succeed in that regard Barring Hilary self destructing though I can't see a path for trump to get the 270 votes to be president - I just don't see how he can turn any of the safe democratic states and I can't see how he can win Florida either " There is a lot of anti establishment feeling floating around in America. Clinton is the establishment, and Trump will capitalise on that.

I certainly don't think she'll be in for a easy stroll But look at her competition... even a turd sandwich can beat a giant douche . She couldn't beat an unknown black guy with a Muslim middle name!. She's only just scrapped through agaist a socialist?. The woman is not as electable as we might think over here You're ignoring the fact that the unknown black guy was handsome as fuck, had Tony Blair's ability to make you believe the future won't be like the past and was back by an awesome campaign team who never once let him be pictured with those dirty cigarettes in his mouth. When you put Obama next to Clinton or Trump he looks like fucking Roosevelt had a baby with Tony Blair (i.e electable) . That's easy to say now 8 years later??. It's not like America has never had a handsome black politican before is it or charismatic ones!. He beat Hillary fairly and squarely on one promise... Change! . I could be wrong but I really don't think she'll stroll it She won't stroll it but there's no stopping half minded voters who will fall for the gender card. Or the let's not vote for a lunatic card? "Sanders wins are all narrow though, and in states that apportion delegates proportionally that's no good Where Hilary wins in places like New York and Caifornia (she's well ahead in their polls there) she tends to win comfortably and they've got lots of delegates Sanders will drag it out but the maths are worse for him than they were for Cruz. "let's face it the yanks love to have a loon in power. Reagan was near enough senile when he got in, bush was bonkers and Bush junior was rejected from the muppets for bwing too much of a dummy and he needed a lot of cheating to help him get in. So, wouldn't be a surprise if crackpot Mr Fart got in. have you seen the people at his rallies? The guys look like dyed in the wool bible bashing crazies or redneck inbreeds and the women (younger ones) look like gold diggers and older ones Ma baker types. If crazies like Putin, Kim jong un or Mugabe along with the bizarre weather don't persuade you that the world is about to end then having Trump for US president should. Only consolation is he wouldn't take office til 2017 so I can get this years holidays done." Actually Bush Junior was just a raving alcoholic rather than outright dumb.

"They've a choice between the status quo of a career bureaucrat or a nut job successful businessman who is used to getting his way, who don't give a toss about offending anybody. I'd go for the nut job, might be just what the world needs, shaking up a bit." Was just watching on Newsnight about it earlier. It showed a few different polls which Clinton was in the lead on such as foreign policy, security, etc, however there was one poll in which Trump beat Clinton, and that was the poll on the economy. Crucially the economy is the one thing most important to American voters in this election. I think this presidential election could turn out to be very close one way or the other.

" She won't stroll it but there's no stopping half minded voters who will fall for the gender card. women are more likely to vote in an election then men..... so this comes along.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_2gdTrh95jU if that is a republican "anti trump" ad played during the primaries.... imagine what the democrats will come up with.... ![]() ![]() ![]() Let's not forget that Obama had the support of highly influencial figures such as Puff Daddy who got people voting that usually don't turn out. It remains to be seen if he'll throw his support behind such a corporate puppet as Clinton with his 'vote or die' campaign: https://youtu.be/9pSh0VAVYn4
