I love to cook my own food from fresh, preparing all the ingredients as I know exactly what goes into it. Pour a glass of whatever and put some tunes on..

What do you cook from fresh?

Potatoes....and i use a drizzle of olive oil. It's that simple!...Brush a baking sheet with oil and Heat in the oven for a few minutesl while you prep the potatoes. I leave the skin on and cut into chip Shape then wash in cold water, drain and dry. Then coat in a small amount of oil..i add salt and pepper at this stage but you can leave that out. Then Bung them in the oven. I can't really advise on temperature or time as my oven is knackered and cooks everything way hotter than normal...but in my oven they take about 20-25 mins turning once, at about 180°c

Doing a roast properly is not basic. You have to get all the timings right to end up with the meat, potatoes, yorkies and veg all ready at the same time.

Yes I've added mint sauce and other herb and spices to deal a little different depending on what I'm adding with the Yorkshires.

Can't beat growing your own veg. Family used to have an allotment...miss going there as a kid.

I cook a lot, it's something I find incredibly relaxing. Meatballs in a rich tomato sauce are in the slow cookery, home made chocolates and fudge in the dining room.

Although I can and have made pastry of various types over the years, personally I think life's too short (not short crust before anyone chips in) to do so. Along with making pasta, noodles and bread.

Also make great chicken fajitas but can't really count that as I use the kits that come with ready made fajita mix n salsa in the box.
