They're probably going to be releasing the PS4.5 or the Xbox One:2 or whatever the fuck they're going to call it this year. Either way I'd wait, the price of the normal consoles will drop hugely.

Just got xbox one last week. Really impressed with it. Last PlayStation I had was the ps2

I'd go with whatever you want. Nearly all games are out for both consoles, and soon enough be able to play multilayer games across all platforms. Have a look at the exclusive games for both n see which ones you prefer. If that makes sense

it's very hard to say as I know both are good I do like the xbox but if anything I am still on the 360 so don't know

Usually I prefer Playstaion and prefered my PS3 to my X360, however the bulk of my mates all had X360 and now Xbones so I went the Xbone route myself.

Apart from hardware also depends if your going to be doing a lot of online gaming with mates, if they all have one console and you have the other your going to be left high and dry apart from playing with randoms of the servers.

On a side note, I find the user Interface on the XBONE just as awful as the one on the 360, looks pretty but is cluttered and not the most user friendly

Whichever is cheapest. Unless you have an exclusive you can't be without ie Uncharted, Gears of War etc the game selection is exactly the same.

Ps4, better graphics, better gameplay, better games, better system, blu ray, cheaper to buy, PS+ is cheaper than Xbox's equivalent, even Microsoft apologised for Xbox one and how it turned out.

PS4 is the right choice

The ps4 isn't that great either tbh. I have one and access to the xbone. They're both lacklustre systems and ps4 certainly isn't getting better games. Fanboys eh. Lol

I don't get the appeal of online gaming at all and 90% of the benefits of modern systems seem to be about online play.

I don't have time to put in 16 hours of 'practice' a week and don't find it fun getting slaughtered by nerds during the 1 or 2 hours I do have.

Well what's the politically correct term for people that have a lot more spare time than you to play games? That aren't actually good at these games, they just play all the time instead of going out and chasing tail at the weekends.

May be off topic and I'm not much of a gamer. Considering buying a PS4 but not sure which is better? I don't get all this 500gb/1tb business. What's the difference? Many say 500gb is better but I don't understand the lingo as to why.

I'd prefer PlayStation. Xbox has never really been appealing to me.

1tb has double the amount of storage space.

500gb 1tb is the same as it would be for a pc, it is the hard drive size

OP, i guess a lot depends on what type of games you play as some are exclusive to a console. I was always a PS man until last year i brought the Xbox One, im converted, never going back. Plus with the Xbox live you get free games every month with it so an added bonus.

Yeah I think that's the term Trevor Mcdonald uses on the news.

Or maybe I'm just jealous because I don't have enough friends for a 2 player game of anything.

What's all this about the 500gb having software updates available as opposed to the 1tb? Do the games no longer be played off the CD or is it having to be downloaded nowadays?

You can still do either. And I very much doubt that Sony would release more updates to those who payed less for a smaller storage space.

The main difference now is just the hard drive size. However Sony will happily let you upgrade it yourself without voiding your warranty. If you're not a massive gamer then the 500gb should be fine. Although it might be worth waiting till e3 next month to see if Sony are stupid enough to alienate their current customers and release the upgraded more powerful ps4.5 or neo. Whatever they're calling it

CUH 1200 means that it draws less power from the wall and find quieter. It was a slight hardware upgrade.

I fail to see how it makes gameplay better. It just reminds me of 3D films that haven't taken off - they don't make the films better and can't compensate for bad storytelling. It's a gimmick as far as I can tell.

There's no such thing as PS4.5. It's a larger hard drive that can also be added externally but two years in I've still barely used 1/5 of the HD space.

Both of us have PS4s. Uncharted is brilliant but Last Of Us is one of the best games ever made and is worth the choice alone. If you're getting a console, that's the one to get. Smooth interface, no desperate Kinect and a slow conversion to digital only instead of Microsoft's "our console is a PC port" business model.

Also, PS4 has outsold the X1 by almost 2:1. That should tell you everything you need to know.

Wars have indeed started over less than the truth, and "pretty much confirmed" is a Politician's way of saying "not confirmed." The only difference is the hard drive size. Everything else being said about it is fanboy propoganda.

That's the thing though. You can use it with preexisting games. I played it with Outlast, and used the controller for movement and other controls. It was absolutely terrifying.

I'm not a fanboy and I actually don't own a console. But here's a link that demonstrates how the new mid generation update is actually a hardware improvement. Not just a larger hard drive.

4k support. Higher framerate and resolution mainly. It's a kick in the bollocks for early supporters. I shouldn't be surprised though. Sony don't give a fuck about their customers. I speak for someone who bought a ps vita, a psp and a playstation tv. All badly supported and Sony are just cunts like that

The stupid thing is that while it'll support 4k displays, it won't be nearly capable of performing at 4K resolution. I'm guessing it'll be able to maintain 1080p 60fps for all games and maybe 1440, but that's still a push.

Still. It'll give an advantage to those who have it. Compared to those who have the base model when playing each other and that can't be fair. Fair enough to upgrade the bluray to 4k but making the games run better for some and not others is a fucking joke

Yes and no, I mean I only PC game and even though the framerate and resolution can differ from person to person. It doesn't really present an issue.

People will pay for what they want to pay for. And that's why mid generation updates will exist from now on.
