Bookies actually pay out more when the favourite wins.

Although basically there just hedging, so they shouldn't actually lose anyhow.

Leicester have a great scout in Steve Walsh who actually goes to watch the players and a lot of the credit must go to him. Most clubs just pay agents and are too fucking lazy to go out and look for the undiscovered gems like Vardy, Kante and Mahrez

Costa Blanca Spain...

Very pleased for Leicester but delighted for English football in general.

Finding bargain basement players and turning them into champions is a forgotten art these days. In the past the likes of Shankly, Busby, Paisley, even Ferguson (occasionally) and most notably Cloughy could all do it.

Lately it seems that top football management is all about chucking 50 million quid or so at the latest, quite often over hyped, "Carlos Kickaball" and the money wasted by some clubs is of biblical proportions.

Next season I hope to see a few more managers and scouts get off their arses and turn up on a wet Wednesday in Fleetwood rather than just giving Jorge Mendez and his like a call.

Leicester have broken the mould and I hope that this is a lesson learned for all the premier league clubs.

Well done.

I would add that while Ranieri has done a fantastic job, Nigel Pearson should not be forgotten.

Last season he not only kept Leicester up but laid the foundations for this seasons triumph.

They haven't.

As always the bookies much prefer an outsider to win.

The 5000-1 odds were way too long and offered as a way of attracting a bit of "fan money" in (so they thought) the knowledge that they would never have to pay out.

Maybe it has pinched them on the bum a bit, but a spanking? Never. With all the bets on Man U, Man C, Chelsea, Arsenal Etc. that have gone down they will be well in front.

What odds would you give me on whether we see Burnley at 5000-1 next season? Long I'd bet.

the answer is that you won't.....

ladbrookes have said they will never do it again.....

they may have done it to get fan money..... but this is still the worst one day loss the bookies have ever taken......

the only thing that remotely comes close to this as a one day loss is frankie detorri's "magnificent 7" wins......

so the days of the 5000-1 odds are gone......
