It seems all the new features are simply ones that could and should have been included in the original version. Cynical marketing ploy by apple? Never, lol

Yeah, that's the modus operandi of Apple all over... it's worked very well for them over the years. They make v1 look incredibly stylish yet technically it's usually sub-par, and only v2 or v3 of the product has those features that the 1st version should have had.

The iPhone is a classic example. They added features to the 3GS and then the 4 that should have been on the 3G version really.

I guess it shows that most people will buy something because it's shiny shiny rather than because it serves their needs.

Android tablet wins - Apple's attempt to try and sell a product that's triple the cost with very little new additions...

okay.. i apologise for going "super geek" now...

Early impressions from Engadget seem pretty positive...everything seems incredibly smooth based on the video and "blazingly fast." Much higher frame rate and very responsive. Seems fast as hell. "No hesitation between your touches and the screen." Looks like a HUGE improvement to Safari. Check out the video...

"This thing is insanely fast. We're not joking -- it's blazingly fast. Everything the iPad 2 does feels like it's on turbo. We're uploading a video of the some evidence of this, you'll be appropriately stunned.

The design feels great in your hands. Sleek, super thin -- much nicer to hold than the previous version.

Definitely has more of a magazine than book feel. Everything is tight and solid. It is pretty amazing how thin they've gotten the device.

Even software made for the first generation device feels better here. Safari is definitely sped up. Games looked great on-screen, though obviously there are no updates to the resolution of screen technology here.

This is an evolutionary step, but we definitely don't feel like it's lacking for features. People are going to gobble these up when they see the new apps."

I know... i have my moments of "geek"

basically what it means is that the new "A5" chip is making everything a lot lot faster and smoother.. and the Ios update as well

in which case it bodes well for the Iphone 5 when that finally makes an appearance probably june ish....

I have an original iPad and the new stuff on iPad 2 isn't compelling FOR ME to upgrade, yes a faster processor is nice but the main stuff like the cameras front and back and the new form factor aren't enough of an upgrade.

It's a better iPad than the first but not enough betterererer. I'll wait for 3 before I consider retiring/handing down my iPad.
