What do other creative types do when you hit a bit of a block? I do a lot of adult colouring & I usually love it, but I've started about three pictures this week and I've not stuck with any of them. Added to that, I have 19 books and I don't fancy doing any pictures in any of them.

I usually go and watch the sun rise or set over a lake or a river with a cup of tea or a bottle of fruit cider and just try to forget about everything else.

Creativity eludes me. I would love to have the time. If you're struggling then do something else.

Nothing. I separate myself from I'm doing for a while. When I come back to it, it'll be much easier to think.

Have you got another creative outlet you can do for a while? I swap mine around so when I get bored if one I leave it alone for a while.

I don't know how applicable it will be to you but I write a bit and when ever I get a mental block I do automatic writing.

Usually, I start with a subject or a opening line and write without thinking about it, just doing it.

Did you enjoy making things with plasticine when you were younger?

Wonderland

I take a step back and have a break from it for a day or two, if it's not coming naturally I can't force it, I just end up frustrated with whatever my project is.

I'm a professional artist/illustrator,,,i generally PANIC if I get a mental block.

joking apart,,I just keep going, better to make mistakes that sit and twiddle ones thumbs,,out of mistakes can come seriously good ideas,,but that's experience talking.

Im experiencing writers block ATM but to be fair that happens every time I have a short deadline for an essay.

However this is my last one for this module and once my exam is out of the way I can get back to doing my arty stuff and my dressmaking...

Mcr

I hit the gym, and get really really anal about tempo, timing, breathing and squeezing. So I'm counting reps, sets, eccentric, pause, squeeze, concentric, breathe, rest so many numbers and counting that there isn't room for much else, helps me to clear my mind and refreshes it for other things.
