I agree with much of what you say and although he is used as a punch bag by other comedians there isn't anyone who doesn't like him. Or admire him.

He's done a lot more than people recall.

He fell foul of drink and stress.

Usually on here people would get

sympathy but it seems if you are a celebrity it's okay to treat you as less than human.

He's got an incredible sense of self depreciating humour and I like it when he does parodys of himself in sketches. He's nobody's fool.

Having said that He's not my cup of tea but im not a bigot.

I saw her m at a local show once, he's a real nice guy, we had a chat and he has no real ego to speak of and he's funny, I think it's the done thing to say he's a shit celebrity, but when he rips the piss out if himself on things like "extras" he's getting paid, so those non celebrity piss takers, think about the short hours, and the money he's getting paid, but don't think about it for too long, you might burn the burgers your supposed to be flipping

Publicity is a machine which isn't determined by one factor alone; they all feed into one another.

Twitter is purely one channel. The accumulative effect of them combined at a certain level is quite substantial.

If you are stealing other people's material to boast your own standings and profit you deserve every deriding available.

Have you ever told a joke at anytime in your life ever? Did you write it or did you hear about it from someone else? If you heard it before and retold it then you are obviously a thief! I have been to many comedy shows and seen and heard countless comedians in my time. Have they all told 100% unique material that I haven't heard elsewhere? Have they fuck! They have all stolen, borrowed, modified or plagiarised going from one liners to whole acts off of others so get off your high horses and get a fucking life! You don't like the guy fine! Guess what? There isn't a celebrity on the planet that is liked by the majority, there will always be more haters out there than fans and in the comedy world that is multiplied 10fold.

Explain to me how you earn money out of random tweets on Twitter? My 30,000 odd should have brought me in bucketloads of dosh

Twitter is purely one channel. The accumulative effect of them combined at a certain level is quite substantial.

If you are stealing other people's material to boast your own standings and profit you deserve every deriding available.

Have you ever told a joke at anytime in your life ever? Did you write it or did you hear about it from someone else? If you heard it before and retold it then you are obviously a thief! I have been to many comedy shows and seen and heard countless comedians in my time. Have they all told 100% unique material that I haven't heard elsewhere? Have they fuck! They have all stolen, borrowed, modified or plagiarised going from one liners to whole acts off of others so get off your high horses and get a fucking life! You don't like the guy fine! Guess what? There isn't a celebrity on the planet that is liked by the majority, there will always be more haters out there than fans and in the comedy world that is multiplied 10fold.

Anyway, he admitted he stole jokes. His flippant/dismissive response just wasn't very nice, instead of admitting it was wrong and moving on from it.

Firstly, there is no need to be so fucking rude so wind your neck in a bit. It isn't holier than thou attitude at all, it's just not being cunt.

Yes, I think we all know jokes in some form have been plagiarised. That isn't the point of contention though really is it?

Comedians earn their livelihood through their material. Not to just be stolen by some guy to make himself appear more popular. Refer to my last analogy if you don't understand still.

Most people go through times of hardship. I understand you should do everything in your arsenal to survive but you can't particularly abuse other people and expect not suffer the consequences.

I understand your point, I really do, but he can't really expect to get away with it unscathed.

First off, he's not even a comedian. Secondly I don't need to wind my neck in for anyone, if you want to come on with a holier than thou attitude expect someone to shoot it down in flames.

I couldn't give a toss about any celebrity and their ego but the first time it happened I got embroiled in it when some wanker comedian started screaming about a joke that had been stolen that was older than methuselahs underpants. So I saw first hand and got attacked myself by precious cunts protecting intellectual property of dubious provenance and the pack of right on trendys standing up for their wronged mates. Most of them were full of shit then and if I met them now I would say it to their faces. In years gone by, comics stuck to the same act for years. Nowadays with social media a gag is half way round the world before the show is over. The jokes he told them were crap one liners that seven year olds would be embarrassed to repeat. The only ones complaining are the ones that need scripting because without it, they ain't that fucking funny!

Do I care about any celeb? No. I respect Kieth Chegwin for getting ahead in a tough business, could I have done it? Maybe, maybe not. he became an alcoholic, would I have ended up in the same state as him? Who knows, we all handle pressure in different ways. Would I have been able to drag myself back from adversity like he did? I wouldn't want to bet my house on it one way or the other. But he did and managed to salvage his career in a fickle industry. I take my hat off to him for that.

It's when he nicks jokes off of people who are up and coming and haven't got his twitter following that it becomes difficult for the acts.
