The meaning of the lyrics has been translated many times and I can only refer you to the interweb if you are interested but regardless, I always end up reflecting on my life, my past and my future.

It's one of my favourite songs.

nobody gives me that melancholy feeling,like Leonard cohen does.

Hallelujah is an amazing song, the Jeff Buckley version is haunting.

Bob Dylan always makes me reflect. Listening to Blood on the Tracks in particular.

You know, one of those backstage meetings occurred between Bob Dylan & Cohen, who praised Dylan's Blowin' In the Wind, which Dylan confessed to have written - lyrics and music - in a single, short sitting.

Cohen sweated blood over Hallelujah, writing and rewriting, substituting verses over a number of years...

And then it's one of the most covered songs of all time.
