Anyone else use this stuff?

Its nutritionally balanced meal replacement stuff, if you wanted 4 a day meets 100% requirements for 2000kcal. You coulr scale up for larger calorie requirements.

I tried the sample and it was decent so now for my 3 meals in work i have 3 huel shakes then one proper cooked meal at home either before ir after work (depends if im sleeping in the morning or afternoon that week).

Way less effort than making 3 meals for each shift and its surprisingly tastey in the vanilla flavour.

Feeling pretty good on it too this is my second week of it.

My only gripe about it is im not 100% sold on the pea and rice protien (its vegan) tor the protien source, i think id feel a little happier if it was egg protien but that would bump the price up a bit.

Currently works out as £1.60 a meal for me but i think if you order the larger packs and go on subscription you can get it down to £1.45 a meal.

"Guess not :p"

To be honest, I'd never heard of it until now.

I would have to say, it's certainly not something I'd consider. I really like food, I enjoy the different tastes and textures, the colours and smells. A generic monochrome drink just wouldn't do it for me.

I'm impressed. The only liquid meal that I have is a chocolate shake after I workout.

What are your goals op by using it - other than not having to prepare meals taking more effort etc?

I can't get on with shakes for meals. I like to feel like I'm eating, have to chew something.

For me, shakes are a good supplement but I couldn't live on them. Just had a read up and they have someone on a years "experiment" to see the long term effects of a shake only diet so that should be interesting. I took a look at the ingredients too and for my targets the protein and carb balance is wrong but that's just me and I guess that's where the issue might lie as everyone has different requirements. Interesting concept though.

Why can't people just eat real food?

It's just a silly idea that the gullible will believe in. And a doctor who wants to make money out of them.

" oh it's developed by a doctor; it must be good"

It might be useful if you were living in a space capsule for 6 months.

Real food can be ridiculously time consuming to prepare. Now I'm no longer grabbing crisps and a chocolate bar to keep me going, I can't believe how time consuming eating clean can be.

Lifestyle can mean you sometimes just don't have that freedom.

Just daved me the hour or so it used to take me to make my 3 meals and is probbaly a little healthier.

Time that can be used to make something more fancy for my main meal now too.

Been loving the prawns latley so any recipes you have for them throw them up.

Oh i did make a hollow loaf of bread with baking beads and partchment the pther week that i filled with liquid cheese dipping sauce

I wouldn't let my body become accustomed to digesting soup. Until I no longer possess the ability to chew, I wouldn't even blink at it.

I like the macros and the ingredient structure but would not look at replacing my whole diet with it as relapse will occur.

I would probably look at replacing a lactose infused protein shake and a meal replacement on a 1/2/1/2 daily protocol mainly for the nutrients.

I did like this review though

Quote: If you’re a London-based vegan, gluten free, restaurant-complaining 100% full-on tosser, you’ll love that it contains:

“No added sugar, no meat or animal products, no dairy, no soy, no eggs, making it suitable for those with even the most complex dietary requirements.”

If you find you don't have a lot of spare time for cooking, you could make large pots of a few things when you do and freeze in portions so they are ready for you to grab when you need

OP... Why don't you find a couple of hours a week to prepare large batches of healthy food and freeze them separately in meal sized portions.

Then take them out of the freezer the night before work so they are ready to eat daily?

That way you know exactly what your a putting into your meals too.

It's what I do and it fits into my lifestyle perfectly.

I used to and it's a hassle also never enough room in the freezer.

This is simple and i still know exactly whats in it (and more accurately).

And i can spend the time making a more fancy meal in the day if i like

Always strikes me that the name resembles the food in some kind of peculiar onomatopoeia sort of way.

Sounds like throwing up, and I imagine it looks similar.

I do use high protein mrp's both shakes and candy bar sized, are usually fortified and use complete aminos but I like flavours. When I've seen this pop up, it seems akin to poridge.

I think its meant to be a play on "human fuel".

Better than soylent :p

It is heavily based on fine ground oats so there is some poridgeiness.

They do flavour sachets of loads of flavours but i havnt tried them vanilla is nice tbh.

Im gonna try making cookies from it i think lol.

I must say i feel good since using it. Probbaly a lot less saturated fat and a bit more balanced on the vits/minerals than my normal diet.

Fresh king prawns, 1 minced chilli, juice, flesh and zest of a lime.

Let the prawns soak in the chilli/lime for about an hr then into a hot pan.

Turn once pink.

The marinade will caramelise in the pan too.

Serve with a big salad with minced fresh chilli and garlic on top.

It maybe worth looking at body building dot com, they have a section on cooking with protein powder (100s maybe 1000s of recipes) I'm sure they could be adapted to use huel instead. There are muffins, cookies, cakes, bars etc.

Maybe start a new trend of huel recipes ?
