I've got a solid silver Indian rupee, that's 100 years older than I am, given me by my uncle.

I flip it occasionally to make decisions, as some of you may be unfortunate enough to have experienced.

Wonderland

I have a musical doll that was given to me on my first birthday, that the possession I've owned the longest.

In terms of possessions that are proper old im not entirely sure cause I have many but one I can date is an antique wasp waist mannequin from the late 1800s. Im slowly getting my hands on clothes from the same era for her to wear.

I also have wood from the petrified forest in Egypt and a bead of Whitby jet that belonged to my nan.

A photograph of my Dad circa 1930

My Grandmother used to tell me the story of getting the picture done and my Dad hadn't been very well behaved. He had been told off and received a slap to the legs hence he looks quite solemn in the picture.

The story is equally important as the picture

My collection of Stephen King novels... most of them were inherited from my step dad so all of them - apart from It, Carrie, and two of my three copies of Salem's Lot - are from the 70s or 80s. The oldest probably being a copy of Night Shift from a very very very early run and that was published in 78.

I though this was an 'oldest profession' thread ..

In terms of age, I have an old antique jar that's a few hundred years old (if we're excluding fossils etc which are millions of years old), in terms of stuff that I've owned for the longest time, I have some old toys from when I was a baby up in the attic - including the old Fisher Price pull along telephone that EVERYONE had back in the day
