Who uses kik? Does anybody else get contact requests from strangers? I don't even know my contact details so I don't know how they get them.

I've had it a lot. I passed my details on to one person, them 25 invites saying they found my name on Instagram, which I don't even use

I use kik all the time, saves giving my number out as 99% of the time the person I end up chatting too is a freak lol & it's easy to block!

We use it my account ( Sophie) gets spammed bout once a week but you spot them a mile off!!

I use KIK a lot and managed some groups. It's hard work, many spammers and even more lurkers.

I'm on Kik but only tend to speak to people I know.

You can spot the bots a mile off - and if you type 'bot' you'll get a response, type 'bot' again and you'll get exactly the same reply word for word. Most of the time instant delete

Anyway, up for new friends in Kik .. Get in touch!

I love Kik. Means I never have to give out my number. I'm in a fun Kik group too.

I don't get spam either so that's a bonus

It probably depends on how predictable or attractive your name sounds. I use it sometimes but have had the same.

Popular services have automated bots generating attempts at user ids too.

I use kik loads, usually join the hubby in and he just observes the convo. Never had a problem with it though. Really enjoy being on there, got in touch if you want kik name X

I only gave my contact details to one person, just after I created the account. I don't know how spammers may have got my details because I very rarely use kik. Now I'm wary whether the contact requests are genuine or not. Probably not, because most are younger women; although I suppose they don't know who they are trying to contact either?
