"Apparently our draught free homes have up to six times more air pollution than being out on the street. I'm in an old, cold, draughty flat with a window always open but when I bought a new office chair the smell made me feel a bit nauseous and my eyes became very sore. How toxic is your home? Now that I no longer drink protein shakes, it is a LOT less toxic :D" Your kidneys and liver probably thank you too.

"My flat has an unwanted breeze, not sure where from but I hardly have to open the windows. Maybe there should be a home pollution monitor! I'm always sneezing in the office though so maybe that's polluted " I do find some workplaces more toxic than others.

"Very atm my kitty has just filled her litter tray I don't miss that particular pollutant. " My cat duties for neighbours starts tomorrow and I really am not looking forward to the trays. At least they're not coming to live at mine. Home air pollution will perhaps be the thing that allows us to be viewed similarly to previous generations using lead paint or mercury products. I dread to think what's around us now.

Define "air pollution" in this context? As without it its a meaningless comparison.

"I have bi fold doors at the back in an open plan lounge /kitchen. The back door is open every morning for half an hour before work and there's a window always open upstairs regardless of the weather. Better than using air freshner." I agree - I never use air freshener, as its just another pollutant too. As for plants absorbing pollutants, it would require us to get rid of the plants regularly. If we didn't, they'd be pollutant sinks building up in our homes. I'm guessing that we're talking about anything that is unhealthy for us, like carbon monoxide, heavy metals and other stuff. The CO would dissipate out by having doors and windows open. Having plant barriers between roads and your home will also reduce the levels of stuff from entering your home.

Excess protein is bad for kidneys. I have to have a low protein diet in order to help.
