Purton

I have seen a few people recently who have posted they would be around at a certain time for a social and then provide a verification after the meet. What are peoples thoughts on this?

I prefer Starbucks by the way.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I've done it in the past, when I go on Fab tour, but I don't like coffee shops.

I would happily meet somebody for a drink and chat if I was in their area anyway, I wouldn't go out of my way for this kind of meet but if we were close and I was out anyway I see no harm in having a coffee stop to help a newbie along

I've done this before. But not too much, as 90% of the time I have a shit profile and I figure a verification from me would be even worse than them having none!

I was going to offer to do this myself next week...

ill be putting a thread up at some point..

I'm going anyway and I always have a coffee whilst out so may as well help someone out with a verification if I can

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

I generously offer my presence for meets when I go down to London. I don't assume it will end in a shag, but I will always verify.

"I've done this before. But not too much, as 90% of the time I have a shit profile and I figure a verification from me would be even worse than them having none! "

There is that aspect. I've had feedback that a verification from me can put other meets in jeopardy. I've taken the stance of telling them to just use the tick and not post the verification.

A verification is just that. It verifies that the person or people as in couple really do exist. There's too many that are on as couples (we've had a few contact us) but when you dig deeper you find they're single men. Even a quick meet up at a coffee shop will verify genuine couples. They are not necessarily there to give out a mark out of ten for a sexual act.

Don't see the problem with this at all.

After all - they turn out to be a real person, you might have a laugh.

You might have more

I understood what you meant...

but its not blind date is it?

you have to know who you're going to be verifying...hence the face pic request

I've done this also a few weeks ago, if I'm out and about I stop for coffee so why not help get someone verified if they are available and want to

I see nothing wrong with this type of meet, it's very good of those to offer it.

If anyone in my area is willing to offer it I'd gladly meet for a coffee as I can't believe how difficult it is for me to get verified this time round!

Iam not sur a clp offered to do one for me but I felt they was just been nice I would like one from some one who likes me and would be happy to meet again not just get one out of pity (or how it feels to me)

I wouldn't say it was out of pity..

It's the same as any organised social where there is nothing expected but to meet, have a coffee and a chat and get verified off someone who is already verified, with no hidden agenda...

I haven't ever done it or anot organised social but I don't see the harm in it.

When I've seen some of the lovely forum ladies offer I've always thought it was a sweet lovely offer

I offered a guy just this on Saturday, I had a status up saying where I was going, he messaged saying he was, he had been in 2 weeks, I offered to have a chat with him and verify his account. He never got back to me, but then after the event asked if I enjoyed it.

Do you know I'm actually shocked!

I think verifications are pointless and give a somewhat false sense of security, however, I recognise others think differently. Therefore, for someone to seek a verification and turn around and say "thanks, but I won't display it as you'll put people off meeting me!" beggars belief and has left my flabber simply gasted!

Wow!!!

I'm a little split on this as on the one hand I can see the benefit in getting folks on the first step of their journey, however I also think that verification should be an indication that people are willing and able to meet and play. Anyway each to their own and hope everyone has fun X

As I've said previously I've got mixed feelings about them. If I veri someone it's because I like them & have got to know them not because I 'speed veri'd' in Starbucks.
