My wife on her single profile got a 70 paragraph message once, yes 70 we counted them.

Written just for her. Took him several days. It was not wanted nor was it asked for.

The guy got upset because I think he sort of expected for that amount of effort he deserved something. She didn't find him in any way attractive and a 70 paragraph opener is just weird anyway.

If the local pizza shop put a 70 page flyer through my door am I more likely to order a pizza from them 'because they put the effort in'?

I don't want their pizza, I don't phone them to tell them I don't want their pizza.

Don't expect or demand a reply and you'll be less disappointed.

Might only be witty to you though.

How things sound in your head not necessarily come over well in text. Especially to a stranger who doesn't know you or your style of humour

You don't have to say much in a personalised and well crafted message. I very rarely initiate meet type messages so it makes my fab experience good fun almost all the time. Don't look at if they've been read either. Fire and forget.

Is this a bit like spending 20 minutes on hold without any one picking up a phone? If so I imagine it's very frustrating!

Lolololol

Seriously, if she reads the message and checks your profile and doesn't like something on it, a reply is a "sorry not interested" on Fab.

Well done for taking the time for writing a personalised message. Sadly you were not what the lady was looking for on this occasion .

You spent 5 mins writing a post about it, and look at all the people checking you out !

You might have more success chatting in the forums

It's called the art of bullshit. I've picked up a grade A in that because I've worked in pubs for over 11 years now and you get so much banter flying over the bar. But a 70 paragraph message is just plain weird. Fair enough put effort into your messages but that is just too much. "Click"...deleted lol

If we get a message that has had some effort we will reply, but if its just a fancy meeting tonight and no face pic then we rarely do as the sender hasnt read our profile so why would we bother to reply, its a bit like cold calling

Even though I've never been inundated with messages as some women are, I wouldn't bother reading long messages, the information in it should be on the profile and a message longer than the profile, is a turn off. The profile is like a shop window and interests me more than a message does

I'd keep it short & snappy with a good 1st line.

I can usually tell from the above, coupled with the user name & avatar whether I'll read / reply or just delete.

This is why i just say hey hows it going.

Ive found if they find you attractive even if thier profile says "no one liners" you'll get a reply to even a "hi x" messgae.

If they dont find you attractive tou wont get a reply to a message that would shame Shakespeare

Effort put in brings rewards.

If we can see they've read our profile properly, get our humour (you're screwed if you don't) and generally are relaxed then we'll read it properly in return and respond.

But 70 paragraphs?

I know we're immortal but FFS - even we don't have that much time...

It doesn't matter how good the message is, if they aren't your type then it's a no reply. We have the type of guy we want to meet listed in our profile. But probably one in 50 messages meet that criteria .

I've found most people look at the photos then the profile content to see if they think they would like to take things any further with the person who's sent the message.

I don't think writing an essay or just a few good well scripted lines would make much difference to be honest.

They either like your photos and profile content or the don't ?

I just stick to being true to myself and message someone I think I'd be compatible with just like I'd approach someone in a bar or club etc.

Seems to work ok for me that way anyway.

Women think they are entitled to a well thought out message but the men sending them aren't entitled to a no thank you in reply. I wouldn't want to meet those kind of self-entitled women if I were a man.

Over demanding female profiles are a 'skip to the next' for a lot of men too. It's the female equivalent of getting a 'up to much?' message from a bloke lol

Why do women pretend that if you send a good message it could lead somewhere? If they have a look at your pics and don't like what they see it doesn't matter if you're Shakespeare reincarnated, you won't get a response.
