Pinching water at the marathon

Just been reading an article where volunteers at todays race were threatened and had their supply of water pinched which was for the runners.How low can people stoop.?

just read the same article,

the photos don't tie in with the story.

They say it is just after the start of the run ,

but the photos show the road littered with loads of empty bottles, the runners have discarded, and only a few runners left on the road,

Having run a water station on half marathons I can recognise this was at the end of the run when 99% of the runners had past

I have seen the video, It was after the last coach/bus had gone past but there was still people running, People was just helping themselves to the water, Talking 2-3 packs at a time, Its water for ffs, You can get it for 3 pound in the supermarket or free from the tap
