That is a sentence that can excuse just about anything you ever do in life. As a not too recent example;

Speaker "Mr Cameron. Please explain to the house why you felt the need to shove your cock in the mouth of a decapitated pigs head."

Mr Cameron "It seemed like a good idea at the time".

Speaker "Ok. Next item; whos turn is it to have a go on Teressa May?"

It's great. A get out of any situation sentence. Don't believe me? Try it.

It's weird how that story came out after that Black Mirror episode. Perhaps it isn't credible.
