I was growing up in the 70s, just leaving the era where we still expected a man to come along and take care of us. 17 years married and I was doing all the caring!

Now teach my daughters to be independent and take care of themselves, can't work out whether that's a bit sad or not...

What kind of a parent wouldnt teach thier child to take care of themselves?
