Guys height (not going to go well probably)

So I know a lot is made of females and even males about weight, how it is a touchy subject and we have to be careful not to offend others (I'm not against curvy or bbw at all, just so you're aware), however it is perfectly fine for something that cannot be changed in height to be discriminated against? am I the only one baffled by this?

"How is it discriminated against?"

Not just sexually, but how many females say 'need a tall man' or '6ft plus only'? If us guys turned around and said nobody over a size 10 for example, we'd be criticised heavily for it....

No you wouldn't as it's a preference.

You'd be criticised if you said no fatties

We've said both in the past. Our choice. Not discriminatory, preference. There's a difference.

It's still technically discriminating against? As I said, if we stated and said sorry to big for us, we'd be criticised, but females can always say 'sorry to small for me' and it's absolutely fine?

Are you discriminated against though? I won't meet men less than about 6 foot, because I'm tall and I feel like a big horrible heffer next to anyone smaller than me. I have no problem with the fact the massively overwhelming majority of men prefer small women, I've got used to it.

It's not ok if people are rude about your height, but it is ok for them to choose whether they fancy you or not.

Loads of people do! I do my own searching and there are plenty of profiles stating they only want women below say size 12, or "gym fit" or "take care of themselves" (code for slim). So long as it's not expressed rudely then I'll just move on past.

If it says something like fuck off fatties then yes I will probably decide they're a wanker, but if it's just their criteria then fine.

Loads of men say that. I don't criticise them. They only get criticised for being rude, if they're rude.

Also - if you read what I say, I'm not saying men are too small for me, I'm saying I'm too tall for them. It's my height hang-up, as opposed to thinking all men below a certain height are ugly. There are smaller men I would love to meet if I was small myself, but sadly I'm not.

Exactly as one of the taller 5% probably on here, I'd fully understand taller women wanting to see a tall man. Not like I've anything against 5 footers (saves them bending down too far to give a Bj!)

But I usually am more attracted to the taller ladies.. Though I don't state a preference.

What if an 100 year old wanted to join Fab , the age preference doesn't go beyond 99. That could be seen as age discrimination.

Height isn't. Because no one is barred from joining due to age and it can't even be stated in preferences apart from in their free text.

Why would you face criticism for saying you're not attracted to a woman because of her size?

I'm attracted to men with a footballers physique and don't find rugby player physiques particularly attractive. Don't ask me why, that's just the way I am. I am not discriminating against those with a rugby player physique because of that.

Online it mostly is women looking for tall guys.

I suppose by automatically ruling out all short guys it is a form of discrimination, but if you don't find short guys attractive then you might as well tell them. and you can't help who you're attracted to so it's not discrimination as in hate crime but more of a preference.

I agree. I'm taller and larger built, which some guys do make quite clear is not for them and that's their choice, so a shorter guy would make me feel even bigger. A taller guy makes me feel like I'm protected and looked after, maybe unconsciously a bit of sub/dom going on, but it also helps with certain positions

Not being one of the perfect ones can give you more of a empathic view of the world, would rather have selfawareness/wisdom than worry about people who write you off because of a slanted view of how we all, apparently should come off the production line.

A lot of guys prefer shorter women on here. It's only since joining fab that I've realised this.

When I'm out I'm much more likely to pull in flat shoes than high heels. Men don't like really tall women, in general.

Something about preferring women shorter so they can throw them round the bedroom or something?

Not at all. I happen to prefer tall guys. I am also very slim size 8. However there are many men on here who state their prefer curvaceous women /larger ladies. Should I say that is discriminating against slimmer ladies? Of course not. Everyone has their personal preference and taste. Some like blondes. Some like brunettes. Some like redheads. Some women (like me!) have a thing for shaved heads... others love long hair on men. You can't adopt that approach because otherwise everyone on FAB and in life generally is being discriminated on their appearance simply because someone out there doesn't fancy them.

And my point is - is there evidence that it is actually frowned upon? If someone says it in a really offensive way then yeah, it will be. I've seen plenty of derogatory comments about weight get jumped all over, but they were stated in a derogatory way. But there are loads of people who just politely express their preference for slim women and those who don't fit that description just walk on past.

Because people use it as a way to put people down. Usually men against women,on here. People don't tend to use someone's height as an excuse to be abusive; they just state a height preference. I've seen a few profiles stating no fatties, not seen any saying no short arses.

Are they touchy subjects? I don't think so. "

So you're saying weight isn't a touchy subject? I've seen various forums recently regarding people's nerves about swinging because they're 'bigger'

Not just sexually, but how many females say 'need a tall man' or '6ft plus only'? If us guys turned around and said nobody over a size 10 for example, we'd be criticised heavily for it....

I do.

Because I prefer my height or taller. A 69 is not possible with someone with a much shorter body before you say it's the same lying down! You can share a 99 with someone a lot smaller "

Rubbish. Plenty of preferences state they're not interested in anyone overweight. Both are perfectly acceptable to say because no one can help what physical appearance they find attractive.

Get over it.

Because people use it as a way to put people down. Usually men against women,on here. People don't tend to use someone's height as an excuse to be abusive; they just state a height preference. I've seen a few profiles stating no fatties, not seen any saying no short arses. "

Neither not wanting to fuck fat people or short people is discrimination.

If having certain things that don't turn you on is discrimination then everyone would complain.

In fairness I think you have come across as a bit whiny, whether intended to or not. You have to accept that not everyone will like shorter guys...doesn't warrant a thread saying "this isn't fair, it would be discrimination if I did the same for people over a certain weight"

The only threads I've seen regarding height are usually started by men who are on the smaller side who seem to think their height is an issue and the only reason why someone won't meet them.

OP, basically no-one gives a fuck about you online unless they can use you.

Men are not as rare as women so even less people give a fuck about you coz you're replaceable.

You can't slag off fat women coz society has already been doing this forever decades now, it's unfair to do this and society is changing and recogonising it is unfair. Yes it can cause health problems being overweight, and that's been thought for ages now, but opinion on this is changing also (morbid conditions exempting).

So all the fat people said 'fuck this shit' we're fat and proud, fuck men who have had all the power for so long over our appearence and all the short arses are gonna get it for that'. Maybe. Or maybe women are more behind in the sexualisation of men thing, idk, but we've only just started doing this as a society and new to sexualising them so we gotta have out tall, hot guys because men used to only go for typically hot women, voluptuous women, slim but curvy women, for such a long time and we're copying that i reckon.

But seriously, people are here for sex and their sexual fantasies. Society is more shallow. What's the harm in being fat if you're fuckable with massive tits an arse? Compared to being small in height and unfuckable?

I need a creative outlet, help me someone...

"What if an 100 year old wanted to join Fab , the age preference doesn't go beyond 99. That could be seen as age discrimination.

Height isn't. Because no one is barred from joining due to age and it can't even be stated in preferences apart from in their free text.

Sarah

So just because there's not setting for height it makes it not a problem? They read your profile,

Notice your height and message deleted. Same sort of situation really, just because the original message cannot be blocked, chances are it'll still be deleted anyway

How do you know they've deleted your message because they've looked at your profile and seen your height? Has anyone actually said that?

I couldn't be sure of that, however I was simply stating that just because it can't be blocked for that reason, it can be deleted for that reason "

So they haven't said that, you're just making that assumption.

Yes it could, but to assume that's the reason is stupid. Perhaps they read your profile and didn't see anything that attracted them?

To assume it's because of your height is your issue, not theirs. I'm overweight, I could assume that everyone who rejects us does so because of that but it wouldn't be true.

Weight is a touchy subject for a lot of women. Nobody likes to be told they are too fat they should Go on a diet. Get some exercise etc etc on the other scale nobody likes to be told they are too skinny and they should eat

More Coz they need fattening up.

Teenage years could be hell for girls if they are bullied For a weight issue many weight issues can make the person depressed or even commit suicide because they think they don't fit a social normality.

However height is something you cannot change you are Destined to be the height you are. Therefore people won't come up to you and say you should eat more to get taller. Eat less to get shorter.

Have you ever been discriminated against purely because of your height?

Is this not in reference to this site?

not specially this site, daily life also, like down your local tesco lol!! "

What...? In what situation in Tesco's does anyone make an issue about your height...unless you can't get stuff off the top shelf? It's clear, despite your protests, you clearly meant specifically on this site...more than likely this is a knee jerk response to getting rejected. Grow up (pardon the pun) and deal with it

I think if you have an issue yourself with something about yourself ie height or wieght then you may take offence in people stating thier preferences. I used to have shit confidence and would take unbridge at people's prefernces but now a days It doesn't bother me as much. I'm fat n short some men want me some men don't. Xxx

I do.

Because I prefer my height or taller. A 69 is not possible with someone with a much shorter body before you say it's the same lying down!"

Height and body length don't necessarily correspond. I'm 5'11 but with only 31" legs so the bulk of my height is in my body where as with others it can be the other way around which then cause problems with a 69

I can see how the OP feels that a man being rejected for one's height should be treated with the same sensitivity as a woman being rejected for her weight, but

a) we all discriminate, it's how the world works,

b) we determine what constitutes unacceptable discrimination by way of context, and historically, short men have had way less negative attention than fat women, and

c) in the world of sex, discrimination on the grounds of size, weight, and even race are far more acceptable.

There are billions of women out there, it's just a matter of finding the one's that can either overlook your diminutiveness, or is very short herself

Height cannot be changed

Weight can be changed.

Women tend not to like short men.

Men tend not to like large women.

Go for what you like. I do recall one time on a dating app a lady asked my height. I then asked her how much do you weigh? She was taken a back and said it is "rude" to ask a lady her weight. I then replied "but it is not rude to ask a man of his height?" She said she never thought of it like that.

Men if your under 5"10 and the lady ask's your height, you are perfectly within your right to ask how much do you weigh. Don't feel ashamed about it

"So I know a lot is made of females and even males about weight, how it is a touchy subject and we have to be careful not to offend others (I'm not against curvy or bbw at all, just so you're aware), however it is perfectly fine for something that cannot be changed in height to be discriminated against? am I the only one baffled by this?

Have you ever been discriminated against purely because of your height?

As someone just said about being mocked for height and being called midget etc, yes they have

I asked if you had. you asked if I had been discriminated for my height, and I responded with yes I have. I've forever been short lol, during school and college

So you've been turned down for jobs, college courses, been refused entrance to shops, restaurants because of your height?

I have been rejected from a few football academies simply because of my height yes, as well as various taunts from other individuals within my child hood. I've learnt to deal with it now, just asked if anyone shared my

Opinion

Lionel messi is short...

He is also arguably the best player in the world, I don't have that level of talent lol. A lot and o mean a lot of clubs will release players due to there development (or lack of). Bale was originally released from saints due to not developing however went to there satellite centre and luckily developed there

Maybe you're just crap at football instead of being too short.

'Maybe crap at football' wow personal dig at me there lol. Crap enough to have spent a good few years within an academy set up (finally one who didn't say no simply due to height) with a team who are currently in the premier league

It's not a dig, it's potentially the truth. I'm sure if you were good enough, you wouldn't have been dropped. "

That to me was a dig. Plenty of players who have been a lot further than me and represented England at youth levels have been dropped and they're very talented. I wasn't Lionel messi that's correct

Yeh but you don't have great perspective on stuff anyway. I don't know why you're trying to convince yourself height is chosen over talent in football, it's nonsense. You ought to just get over your height. It's not changing.

I'm still representing my university, and I was released at the age where to make a lasting impression the chances are decreased significantly, so opted to gain a degree in coaching instead. And as for the 'height has nothing to do with it nowadays is so untrue it's a joke

Height at junior and youth levels has a massive impact, it's the relative age affect which I'm currently studying in one of my university module's. Those who develop earlier hey picked up, because they have the physical side (height included) a lot sooner than others

I'm sorry mate, if you went from a premier league academy to representing you uni, with nothing in between then I would say that it has more to do with your ability and little (pardon the pun) to do with your height

I'd get over the inferiority/small man complex and you'd be a much happier person

I do not believe you that talent is chosen by height. You just sound bitter because of your lack of success.

You either have to be extremely fast or be amazingly skillful to make it as a small Man, IE Messi/Owen etc

6ft plus and athletic is more common for a average player

Reading

My profile clearly states I don't meet short men, and that I'll delete messages from people who've read my profile and still feel like chancing their arm...

So yeah, if I get a message from a short bloke I'll delete it, and probably block them for good measure.

I wouldn't respond with "eff off short arse" and I'm not nasty about expressing my height preferences.

I also say I don't like fat bellies and beer guts... But again, I'm not rude about it, so I've never had any nasty comments back (unless I've rejected someone and they threw toys from pram).

It's not discrimination, because I'm not saying "short men can't have sex". Short men can have plenty of sex. Just not with me (and that's even if they'd want to!)
