Winks..?

Are these like the pokes on facebook, irrelevant..? Do you ever respond to them? I mean if messages aren't read then am pretty sure a wink isn't gonna get a response, so what is this functions purpose?

I think that's the normal use, but when I've winked couples or women and they've winked back, I've sent a polite intro message which then gets deleted so people interpret the wink in different ways I guess.

We only occasionally look at ours. Just don't really see the purpose of them.

This tablet has a mind of its own and has sent a fair winks when I've only wanted to look at a profile etc. The screen is far too sensitive.

I wink sometimes as a iceIcebreaker. I'm dyslexic so sometimes I use it when I get writers block. Sometimes it works.

I think they are usually regarded as an 'I'm interested' kinda thing, then the recipient winks back and so on...

I must admit I use them as an icebreaker as I've lost count the amount of times I've spent ages writing messages fuck knows how long (no copy and pasted stuff) to have them deleted in a nanosecond.
