as Manchester is a university town you would find it difficult to find somewhere that's not full of kids lol

Port Street Beer House is pretty grown up. No music, though. Just beer!

Revolucions de Cuba is quite a classy place that's on Peter street in Manchester. Stay clear of the printworks as a lot of the younger crowd go there

The liars club is a lovely place to go also that's just on the corner of bridge street

Mr Coopers House & Garden that's also on Peter street.

A lot of these places hold a presence that the younger generation feel somewhat out of place and don't stay long lol. Go on google and type in the top 20 places to go in Manchester you'll certainly be spoilt for choice. I'm the same where I can have a drink and be social with others rather than be shouting over the music lol

Hope this helps you out

One other place if you just want an unsuspecting venue, without hipsters or scallies: Crown and Anchor. Standard beers on draft, but a nice mixed crowd, family run, your type of music. Not too trendy, but not an old man pub either.
