They'd have been much better roping in the lead singer of Airbourne I think.....

Their shows may also start on time then too!

AC/DC were the first band I ever saw at the Queen's Hall in Derby in 1977. Bon Scott will never be forgotten and Brian Johnson can never be replaced

Back In Black is my ringtone

I've seen Guns N' Roses a couple of times, but think Axl might do a good job of it actually

If not, Angus will kick him in the nuts

Yup - can't say I'm impressed.

They replace a singer who can't hear with one who can no longer sing so well either!

Good point - I know a few who are looking to sell their tickets and others who are going for the one-off experience as it could be a sight to behold!

Although as someone who went to see Iron Maiden play with Blaze Bailey..... Erm, don't hold your breath! The fact I saw them in Rock City says a lot though lol

In all honesty I'm not an Iron Maiden fan (but was off to see my best mate who was at Nottingham uni) but I used to like Wolfsbane!

The gig however was 'special'

It's funny,by going to see a ACDC tribute band like Live Wire, you will be hearing a band who sound more like ACDC than ACDC will sound.

Just my thoughts.

I quite liked the virtual xi album and he was fantastic in wolfsbane. Personally maiden itself had lost it way at the point when he joined the band.

Have you heard a band called Jackal? A mate of mine played me some of their live stuff from youtube and they are brilliant and sound like ac/dc, their singer sounds just like Brian Johnson and would be perfect for ac/dc. Check em out and see what you think.

Well, given that Doctors have warned Brian Johnson that he is at risk of losing his hearing, yes. Obviously it would be preferable for AC/DC to keep their front man, but they totally respect the importance of his health

That bit kinda goes without saying - its his replacement thats the issue!

Loved GnR, loved AC/DC, but not some demon hybrid.....

Personally, I am not a fan of AC/DC or GUNS-N-ROSES, but I could see Axel doing pretty well. His voice seems like a pretty decent fit.

People know what Axel sounds like, so it's not like hearing him would be a big surprise.

I hate saying but when we see them we did think their tunes were a little bit "samey". But as far as performances go he was brilliant! I'll never forgive the bastard for drenching us in lager though! Was a very sticky train journey home from London!

Same here. I love ACDC but for me it won't be the same. Axl is a legend but he's not ACDC. I think when they found out about Brian they should have postponed or even cancelled the tour altogether. But too much money on it I suppose. It will be interesting to find out how many people accepted the refund.

I'm very much in the "they should have just retired" mindset. I saw Axle last year and have to say he worked his socks of live. Maybe contractually they had to do the tour, and to be fair he has the right type of voice for AC/DC.

I always thought Bon Scott was the best front man I ever saw live, can't say Brian Johnson was my favourite.I say go and enjoy!
