Who was it that got you hooked as a fan and why?

Also, who is a fan of British wrestling?

I'm a WWE fan I have the Calendar in my office proudly at work and I can often be seen pretending to be on a conference call but actually streaming it to my tablet.

Met the Big Show last year in London and went back stage at Smackdown at the O2.

Whilst I'm fully aware that's it's not real it just makes me laugh. I love it I think it's because I was never allowed to watch it as a child due to trying to Tombstone my brother.

Gutted Wade Barrett is leaving.

Other than that I can take it or leave it.

then as a teen the monday night wars between WCW and the WWF/E just took it to a whole new level

I remember seeing the big show back in 2003, will never forget how tall he was when he walked past me. Got to meet the likes of Bella twins, Titus O Neil, RVD,Sabu and Kid Kash (very scary man).

Tom Billington the Dynamite kid although paralysed is still alive. It seems a little ironic that his cousin and tag team partner the British Bulldog Davey boy Smith criticised his lifestyle before his injury yet died from complications from taking too many prescription drugs among other things.

i was a "child of the south" so i wasn't brought of on WWF/E... i think the only ppv's i watch were mania, summerslam, and royal rumble

in atlanta on a saturday it was georgia championship wresting on TBS... which is the main precursor to the NWA and WCW....

so i was brought up on the likes of Ric Flair, Dusty Rhodes, Terry Funk, The Four Horseman, the Road Warriors

then in my rebel years... i went from WCW to ECW.....

so i came to WWE late...... but the great thing about the "network" (yes i pay the tenner a month) is they have the entire NWA and ECW back catalouge so i can watch all the PPV's from the way back where...

I lost track of wrestling just before it went to WWE and wrestlers started having names like John. I still have my trading cards from around 1990/91. Not worth as much as I'd hoped. Found Juggalo wrestling on you tube, Stranglemania. My mate used to have them on VHS. They're so funny. Violent but the dialogue is funny and Mick Foley is in one of them.

In case you don't know what a Juggalo is, Google it then realise it probably wasn't worth wondering.

Met British Bulldog & Bret Hart in London when they filmed wrestle mania over here in 1988 I think it was that year.

Sadly BBD no longer here. Huge Undertaker fan.

I've been into wrestling since I was about 7. Never managed to get into the British side of it though.

Watched it on and off since the 90's, steve austin really got me hooked though. Used to watch wcw on a saturday on channel 4 i think it was. Always watch the ppv's, raw and smackdown, now signed up to the network to make great savings. (Nod to _abio)

I stopped following wrestling over 10 years ago. But moments like mankind thrown of the cell, the introduction of TLC matches, Shane McMahons ridiculous stunts, austins beer truck, the ring collapsing when Brock superplexed the big show.

These things stick in my mind of how great wrestling was growing up.

I've watched it lately and found it rather shit to be honest

WWE is a public company now, they can't do the attitude era stuff even if they wanted to - which they don't. What really killed WWE was UFC. Vince didn't want to go head to head with them so WWE is now aimed at Kids and UFC is for people that loved the attitude era.

The video was good, is it wrong that I thought the funniest part was the two girls getting hit by chairs?

When i turned maybe about 8-9 years old I was drawn to American style wrestling by the legion of doom tag team hawk and animal,

I also went back to the fabulous free-birds Michael Hayes, Buddy Roberts, Terry Gordy and Jimmy Garvin after their slogan Bad streets.

Grew up with the likes of The rock, The undertaker, Stone Cold Steve Austin who just whooped the boss's Arse every night drinking beer flipping his middle finger and one of the toughest son of a b*tch's to ever lace up a pair of boots.

Cactus jack, Terry Funk, Sabu. I literally waited up every Monday night and Saturday night to watch both shows. I'm 28 now and still watch Wrestlemania and Royal Rumble.

Who drew me in was Steve Austin. Who else could get away with pouring cement over his bosses brand new corvette?. Miss those days watching it as a kid. It's all changed now but every once in a while you see a glint of the old school

Brock Lesnar...Now that guy is a animal!!

am so jealous mind u ive seen a few wwe events myself, there is nothing like seeing the undertaker live and triple h threatened to kick in his words to "yellow of our teeth" lol, may i add that wrestling is more real than what others realise, people have actually died from finishing moves before and what i have come to recently realise is that the chairshots that they do take can seriously affect thier lives as well .

Watched the British wrestling when I was little, I liked Kendo Nagasaki.

Then I started watching the WWF wrestling as a teenager and my Favourite was The Ultimate Warrior, he was much more cool than Hulk Hogan. Then when the attitude era came Ultimate Warrior had gone and Brett Hart became my favourite

Also always enjoyed watching Rob Van Dam.

Been a huge wrestling fan since I was 8, still not been to a live wwe event though. I watch pretty much anything wrestling related such as WWE, TNA, Lucha underground, new Japan, ect. The British wrestling scene is picking up again with challenge TV and wrestle talk TV on youtube.

I get why people say it's all fake etc etc but you can't dent that the wrestlers really do put the effort in when working out and then try their hardest in the ring. For the main part they know the end and how it's going to end and they arrange what's called high spots during their match. The rest the come up with in ring and it's the good performers that make it look seamless. I admire them for the punishment they take on their bodies and the lengths they go to for the crowds entertainment.

For the people who don't like it I have one question. Do you take your kids to the pantomime at Xmas?? This is the perfect way to think of wrestling. It's a couple of hours of entertainment where you don't need to think about stuff and just go with the flow. You cheer for the good guys and boo the bad guys and that's all there is to it. I've taken my lad to the wwe shows and as a non wrestling fan they are fantastic. It's a few hours to spend with kids and forget the troubles of the world.

It's not fake it's scripted. The moves if performed wrong can injure, paralyse or kill you. There's nothing fake about being hit with a steel chair or jumping off a 20ft high steel cage

i remeber big daddy, giant haystacks and hulk hogan.he was my favourite..when they turned him bad..i got very upset and didnt watch until he got turned good again...then there was the undertaker, brett hart and a very others you mention i remeber..but after that 'scenario' it killed the reality of it for me.. watched a couple of tag team matches and that was about it...good times though x

Great Kahli had the talent of being born Indian and growing tall!

Vince has terrible taste in wrestlers and basically has a hard on for bodybuilders and tall people. Which is basically the opposite of who the crowd cheer - Daniel "YES" Bryan, CM Punk & Seth Rollins for example.
