Just a simple question to ask others, i get so many nasty emails when i say thanks but no thanks, does any other single female get this hassle off site?

I think a lot of women can do. I have heard of a real nasty incident on here with a guy putting numerous profiles up to harass a woman. I think some just have a deranged mindset.

I just ignore messages that im not interested in. People are always complaining that you should be polite but for me its easier to ignore

Yes, and not just single women.

Block, report if needed and move on, dont give them the satisfaction of getting to you.

I do not get many messages, and seldom get any abuse.

Sometimes get very abusive mail, depends how many I kick out of chat or knock back.... am teflon coated now!

I had exactly the same happen this week.

Sent a polite thanks but no thanks as he told me he could not be bothered to read my profile.

Then i get a really awlful mail calling me all the names under the sun.

I duly reported as he came at me from a different couples profile.

when i first joined i met a chap for coffee at my home (ignorance and naivety)and heard nothing until this week when he said he wanted to meet me that very night.

i said i wasn't interested and he said he didn't believe me....his messages actually got to the point of scaring me.....

my own stupidity in part, i do know that, but you cant block someone that has your address

be careful peeps and be grateful that the abuse is limited to the site where you can at least control it

There is a woman up north who has been plagued but a guy. He even has taken to messaging people on her friends list and who have met her. It is not present at all.

Never mail back .. when get the posts so thay get the message .. your doing well mailing them back saying no thanks.Some will just have a go at making you feel bad and get to you that way ... maybe block if keep mailing .. then thay will really get the message.

We mainly get mails from people away from the forums or chat, they don't know we are mods. We like it that way too

When I say no thanks, I don't give a reason.

Since there is a "password" in my profile, if it is not quoted in the message, then I know the sender has not read my profile properly.

If they ask me why I am not interested, I would reply in the line that I do not hold back on my opinions, and they should only ask them if they can handle the truth as I see fit.

They don't normally come back after that! And those who do and follow up with unpleasant responses get blocked, and reported if it is really nasty!

I think that females get more abusive mail than couples, at least the couples have a guy there who can put off some guys from being too abusive, but many guys and indeed couples get the mind-set that if a female is alone she is more vulnerable and therefore more easily scared or verbally abused or threatened.

I've usually found the abuse comes from the female of a couple if I don't fancy her husband!

I am not sure about that Laine...it is a screen, men won't be worried if they think a male is there typing with the female , if they are going to abuse they will abuse anyway.

I was threatened by a guy who came back under many guises.

Each time he was reported, by myself and I think others, each time was dealt with swiftly by admin

If the threats are made here they can be dealt with, unfortunately if they then transferred of site, i.e, home, msn etc it is out of admins control as it then becomes you word against theres. Also when he said, she said happens

I report and block. If the site admin etc. decides not to take any action against the other person, at least he won't be able to contact me again to bother me.

Simples!

Mind you, I know of one person being kicked out after I reported him to pretend to be a couple when he was a single gent. Something must have happened to his couple profile, as he sent unpleasant messages via his single profile thanking me for reporting him as a fake.

He might have done other unpleasant things to other people to get kicked out. Don't really care so long as he is not about to bother me!

I have found though if I get very abusive mail, I then copy and paste the exchanges of mail to admin, the abusers don't stay around for very long. Thanks admin. xxx
