no idea who pumfrey is or what for that matter,howver,allow me to digress,my grandmother use to make us eat pumfrey,it was like a curly cabbage,yet not savoy.never see it in the shops any more

Curly kale! My Dad used to grow it! Got a very crinkled leaf. You do occasionally see it in some specialised seed catalouges but it`s not a popular vegetable now.

yes i know of curley kale,quite like it now im an adult,but was it called pumfrey,or is that a different type of cabbage altogether,or did my old gran just call it that?(she had a habit of giving things names lol

we had it when i was a kid too known as pumfrey (maybe Pomfrey) cant remeber
